Hey,that was a nice piece, wasn't it? Lots of good background material on Hawes and he speaks so intelligently about his craft. I'd like to see "The Little Things" all the way through sometime. All I've ever seen are bits-and-pieces,or the 'making of' kind of documentary that we had up on a thread. _________________ "...I met a teacher called Colin Smith....an immaculate man in everything he did;...no one ever mucked around in his classes...but he was also very fair, and he seemed to think there was something worthwhile about me." Hello there,
It's been a long time since I've visited this or one of Ioan's fan sites. I just happened upon this when I googled myself (insert joke here), which I'm brave enough to admit I do on the odd occasion.
I have to admit I was caught off guard that there was a thread about 'The Little Things'. I'm sorry so many of you haven't seen it. It did sell to a celebrity short film DVD company to be released sometime soon. That being said, I gave away the right to put this film on the internet. So, if you didn't see it at a film festival, you didn't see it at all.
However, I do still have a few copies and I figured you guys are a tight knit group of folks, so if you send me an e-mail to my website, I'll try and send off a copy. Since I only have a few, maybe you can circulate it amongst your members that are interested in viewing it. It's a shame that Ioan's main supporters have missed out on seeing a really wonderful performance by him doing a role you've never seen him in before. I know for a fact that Ioan is very proud of this little film and I think some of you might really dig it. Again, he did this role for me for free back in 2004 when we were shooting Fantastic Four. He gave up his only long weekend to shoot this with me. In fact, he had to go for a meeting on the Friday in LA and flew up the next morning early to be on set for my volunteer short film. For this, I'm forever indebted to him as this film has helped open many doors for me. He is a great actor, a true gentleman, and a good friend.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope you get to enjoy the film.
Best,
Gary Hawes

| It's wonderful that you stopped in Gary. I really enjoyed the clips I saw of The Little Things. Haven't gotten to see Jennifer's Body yet because it didn't make it to my little corner of the world. I live out on the Olympic Peninsula which is few hours from Vancouver. We here are equally impressed with Ioan's talent and it's nice to hear from someone who knows him that he is the gentleman he has always appeared to be. Thanks for stopping in and I will be e-mailing you. |

Thank you so much, Gary! It is a quiet time for Ioan fans at the moment and to have this extra input is re-affirming. We will certainly take you up on your offer - another hole in the collection plugged! Thank you again

Hello,Gary! So nice of you to pay us a visit and leave comments the way you have. I've been hoping for a long time that I'd someday get to see your film. Now, it looks like it's really going to happen----HOORAY!!! (I don't have many "viewing holes" left in my collection to fill now either.) Please, stop by again anytime................ _________________ "...I met a teacher called Colin Smith....an immaculate man in everything he did;...no one ever mucked around in his classes...but he was also very fair, and he seemed to think there was something worthwhile about me." I, too, would like to see it! If you get a copy, I will pay for postage and shipping, plus the price of a CD! Or, we could always put it on the IZ server, hidden behind a members-only password.
*squee!* I'm beside myself at the thought of finally seeing this gem of a film! |

| Semcato - Due to legal issues, I'm afraid we can't post it anywhere on the internet. Give me a PM for a more full explanation. Thanks. |

Thanks to the kindness of Gary Hawes, I've been able to see a little seen role of Ioan's - that of Simon in The Little Scenes. It is in parts: sad, funny and truthful. Both leads do a very nice job portraying their characters. I particularly enjoy the roof scene and the scene where they enter into a corporate meeting in progress. It is quick and short, but packed with some nice subtilties. The DVD also includes the Making of portion which was posted long ago. Or at least part of it was. It has an interview with Ioan among others and a few cute behind the scenes looks.
I'd like to discuss it more, once a few more have seen it. Today, the DVD has been sent on its continuing journey to the next person on the list. Eventually I hope more will get a chance to view it. It is in NTSC which is the U.S. mode, so a multi-regional player is required for those outside the U.S. PM me if you want more info. |
