Frances, That's a great story, too. Did you get any pictures of your duck?
Stevie, my Mom said the same thing about it being a good children's story. Especially because they tried to acclimate it to living with other ducks in a pond and Ducky found her way home a few weeks later. I guess the food supply was better.
Marthe - I hope you and your family are alright. |

I think Ducky might have lots of adventures getting back home, don't you?

Yes, we took some pictures of our duck: they must be somewhere in the albums where we collected the pictures from the days when my brothers and I were little. If I have the time, I'll look for and scan (yes, they are from before digital cameras saw the light) them to post them here. _________________ Every journey brings its own surprises: a challenge, a sudden detour, a new set of friends along the way, perhaps even a destination different from the one you intended. Hi, Those 'duck tales' all sound so cute! It WOULD be fun to put them into a little story of some sort,GG.. Don't they call it "imprinting" when an animal does like that one did---following someone around and stuff,I mean? How cute!!! _________________ "...I met a teacher called Colin Smith....an immaculate man in everything he did;...no one ever mucked around in his classes...but he was also very fair, and he seemed to think there was something worthwhile about me." It was Austrian zoologist Conrad Lorenz who said that ducklings identify as their mother the first living creature that they see when they come out of their egg, not matter whether it is a duck, a hen, a person, etc. _________________ Every journey brings its own surprises: a challenge, a sudden detour, a new set of friends along the way, perhaps even a destination different from the one you intended.
