Zachary Quinto of Heroes and Star Trek
Last week I went to visit my sister in Sarajevo and we got to see the new Star Trek movie since my sister is a Trekkie and I too enjoy the franchise. So there was Spock, played by mighty fine Zachary Quinto. Loved him! Really nice choice to play Spock. I have read somewhere that it is Leonard Nemoy who originally played Spock that hand picked him for the role. So saying to my sister that I enjoyed the movie and Zachary she provided me with the series of Heroes where he plays super hero villain Sylar. I didn't watched it before. And let me tell you he is even more enjoyable to watch! He is the bad guy but somehow everyone is cheering for him. I know I do. Click on the thumbnail to view larger.

Though I'm not usually into SciFi, I love Star Trek. Honestly, I have yet to make my mind up about whether I will go and see the movie or not, as I've generally been disappointed with big screen adaptation of TV series (and the reverse). However, Zachary Quinto is easy on the eye and he looks like Leonard Nimoy enough to be a credible younger Spock.

The re-do of Star Trek was quite well done. Like you Frances, I'm leery of TV series turned into movies, but they did a good job this time.

Quinto really was a close match for Nimoy, wasn't he? That was very good luck in casting,I'd say.

11th adaptation of Star Trek to the big screen is a quite fun blockbuster entertainment. The story leads in a new way and you don't have to be familiarized with the saga of previous films. It felt like sort of an introduction of how things came to be, and how they met and their first assignment. The fans are the best, I mean the real Trekkies are just so amazing. To dress up like the characters is, well it rocks. Not that I would go as Klingon to the Comic-Con, but maybe a Ferengi. Five different series TOS , The Next Generations, DS9, Voyager and Enterprise and 40 years is really something. The movement of Star Trek as my sister would say connects people, regardless of gender, color, faith, race, or planet, consolation and Universe you're from. Oh Zachary is easy to look at indeed (Chris Pine too ). Not just that, watching him in Heroes shows how truly remarkable actor he is. Good thing that they cast him Ship. The transformation he does is amazing. But again it is always so much fun in playing the villain than a goodie. The rest of the cast was really good. Karl Urban as doctor McCoy is good, and Anton Yelchin as Checkov if funny.

The original Star Trek series was a don't miss for me when I was a young girl. I would usually get a Baby Ruth or Three Musketeers candy bar with my allowance money and watch it every Friday night.

The re-do of Star Trek was quite well done. Like you Frances, I'm leery of TV series turned into movies, but they did a good job this time. I think I can't but wait till the dvd is released, as I've just discovered that Star Trek is no longer shown anywhere near to where I live. Well, what did I expect? Star Trek was released in theaters over 2 months ago and it would have been surprising if it was still shown now.

Looking at the fans and official sites of actors is what brought me to this post. Lately I have visited Zachary Quinto official site @ http://www.zacharyquinto.com and not only does he have the official web site he has branched to facebook, twitter and myspace as well. Not to mention that he opened his own community http://community.zacharyquinto.com for the fans to post in witch is based somewhat like twitter. There is even competition on tweeterwall his fans are voting for him to become ultimate world Mr. twitter. http://tweeterwall.mallplace.com/tw/worldwide/ultimate-world-mr-twitter They helped him win Mr. Twitter USA. They are very supportive of him like he is of them. He even post himself on the community and elsewhere when time allows. They say he is such down to earth person, which lacks in many other celebrities. Good for him. Oh and yeah apparently he has heart-shaped-chest-hair of which I will post a pic for you to see. Edited to add Nice smile!

It does kind of look like a heart. Cute. It is, isn't it? Cute indeed, every time I see it makes me giggle. What one won't observe, or maybe it is too much chest hair for me to look at? Ah nah. (for those who want to see more look at the Best chest thread @ http://ioanzone.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=30684#30684)
