Youtube copyright. A Little help please
Didn't really know where else to put this or who to ask so if anyone can please help? On one of my videos on you tube I ahve a copyright notice and it says that Ihve two courses of action. 1. That I can Do Nothing and the video will continue to play everywhere or 2. I can dispute the claim. Now the video is an Amazing Grace fan video and the copyright infringment is the music I've used, but in the outline of the copyright it says that the holders policy is to allow and in all countries, so does that mean that I'm okay if I leave the video up, I will just have a notice in the info saying that it contains material from a third party? Youtube aren't trying to trick me are they so they get to take all my videos down?

Did Youtube give you any more information than that? Did they say if there would be any consequences for continuing to play the video or is it just their way of labeling so that they are claiming not to be responsible for content for purposes of copyright. I don't know if I can help you, but just trying to clarify your problem a little. You might check to see if Youtube has any instructions for dealing with the issue or maybe one of the others who has posted a video on Youtube knows.

YouTube officially discourage the upload of clips featuring copyrighted materials (video or song) to their site, unless the poster sought permission from the copyright holders or can claim that their particular use of a copyrighted video or song qualifies as a "fair use." Some info on YouTube's copyright policy can be found at http://www.youtube.com/t/howto_copyright In practice, YouTube will take clips down or ask posters to take clips down, only if a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) complaints are filed (usually by copyright holders). Actually, DMCA complaints are not regularly filed, either because copyright holders are not aware of copyright infringements or because if their materials are not resulting in a profit for those who used them, they may see it as a some free publicity. Anyway, your problem seem to be on just one of your clips, so I wouldn't worry about what to do with the others, and I would contact YouTube and try to clarify the matter with them.
