Win Silver Prizes
Help someone be a Silver Surfer to win Fantastic Four prizes Friday 25th May is national Silver Surfers' Day, and Digital Unite are encouraging people to hold events on the day dedicated to giving older people help with learning internet skills. BT is also supporting the day by encouraging young people to share their expertise of the internet with older friends and family. For more information about Silver Surfers Day log onto www.silversurfersday.org where you can register events or find out what is happening in your area. Young people wanting to get involved should visit the BT Internet Rangers website www.btinternetrangers.co.uk To celebrate Silver Surfers' Day, we are giving you the chance to win a goody bag with money-can't-buy items from the next Fantastic Four Film, which is aptly named Rise of the Silver Surfer! Based on the archetypal Marvel comic book characters, this second Fantastic Four title, sees the first family of superheroes - Mr Fantastic' (Ioan Gruffudd), The Invisible Woman' (Jessica Alba), The Human Torch' (Chris Evans) and The Thing' (Michael Chiklis), meet their grea-*test*-('") challenge yet as The Silver Surfer comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction! For your chance to win one of six goody bags, each containing a notebook, sunglasses, water bottle, drawstring bag and character watch, just answer the following simple question: http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/mostpopular.var.1407668.mostviewed.help_someone_be_a_silver_surfer_to_win_fantastic_four_prizes.php EDIT: OTHER LINKS ADDED http://www.mcvuk.com/news/27141/Win-Fantastic-Four-on-PS2 http://www.croydonguardian.co.uk/competitions.var.1407668.0.0.php

Thanks Annee. It is a very nice concept, but it did make me chuckle a little bit. My Mom and Dad who are in their mid 70's ( and would be considered older ) and have used e-mail for more years than I have, search the web for product comparison information, get daily weather updates, send e-cards, upload photos and have looked into wi-fi for use when they travel around the country. While they know there are a lot of older people who don't know much about computers, most of their friends are computer literate and they don't like it when people presume because they are older that they don't understand newer technology or keep up with the times. I do still think it's a nice idea, but Orlando Bloom was on The Tonight Show two nights ago and commented on just now getting his first computer and claims that was the first step toward taking it out of the box because he knows nothing about computers and I wouldn't consider him older. Maybe they should have tried having the computer literate teaching the computer illiterate, then my parents could sign up for a prize. :happy Gaffer's Girl
