I know I was the last person to post in this thread twice already but I wanted to bump it up because the song I'm listening to is beauitful. It's called We Are Australian. It always makes me proud every single time I listen to it and the chorus is so fantastic, it's true too. I just wish some Australians took notice of it: "Cos we are one, but we are many. And from all, the lands on Earth we come. We share a dream, and sing with one voice. I am, you are, we are Australian." Some of the verses, well all of them really, are really great too and the amount of national pride they bring out in my is astounding. Whenever I feel down on this country for whatever reason, I think of this song and instantly I feel better. "I'm a teller of stories, I'm a singer of songs I am Albert Namatjira, and I paint the ghostly gums I am Clancy on his horse, I'm Ned Kelly on the run I'm the one who waltzed Matilda, I am Australian. I'm the hot wind from the desert, I'm the black soil of the plains I'm the mountains and the valleys, I'm the drought and flooding rains I am the rock, I am the sky, the rivers when they run The spirit of this great land, I am Australian."

Kaitlyn I am fascinated with Australia and New Zealand and their beauties. That is really nice song. I am sure you are proud to be Australian. Go Aussies! :applaud: I am listening Rebecca Lavelle's "Did I Tell You". It's one of my favorites in the world! You can listen it too on myspace on this page and tell me what you think! 'The Collier Recruit' from 'Over the Hills and Far Away' music from the series Sharpe. (Sigh! I'm going to have to start a thread in Not Ioan's aren't I, Hil?)

Gaffer'sGirl- 01-02-2008

Kaitlyn - with those words I can see how it would be a stirring song. Stevie- I've watched a few Sharpe, but not all of them and never in sequence which I believe would help me get into it more. They seemed interesting - I hope BBCAmerica replays them.
