What role(s) would like Ioan to be cast in?

I think you're right KJ. He certainly has the potential and the talent to move up the ranks. Whether he becomes A-list or not I just hope he continues to get the opportunity for high quality roles like AG or Hornblower. GG GG, There's a role I wish he would be cast in. Peter Jackson has optioned (or whatever is the correct term) the Naomi Novik books about the dragon Corp, the first called His Majesty's Dragon. They're set during Napoleonic times (a period Ioan has done twice now), a sort of "what if" fantasy--how would history have played out if dragons existed, and were intelligent? The story begins aboard a British war ship; the main character, the ship's captain, Laurence, discovers a dragon egg in the hold of a captured French ship. Big prize money. But the egg hatches while at sea, and the dragon chooses Laurence to bond with. Laurence is forced to leave the Navy and join the dragon Corp, and fight aerial combat instead. Great books. Great director (if PJ actually gets around to filming these stories after The Lovely Bones). And I read someplace that Ioan would like to work with PJ. Kind of a dream role of mine, for him to play William Laurence. I wouldn't mind him back in knee breeches and uneeform one little bit--though maybe Ioan has had enough of that time period? It would be interesting to see what personality twist he came up with. And it's filmed in Cardiff - he could have some time at home! :plotting

I hope it wasn't either. I'd like to see Ioan work with Peter Jackson. So, do you know who's directing TTTW? I've heard much about this book (most loved it, a few hated it), but decided for now not to read it. Too many other books I'm trying to get through right now. But I'll be interested to see the movie version. Robert Schwentke, the same director of Flightplan (the movie with Jodie Foster and Sean Bean).

Scotchbonnet and Frances, I agree that it would be great for Ioan to work with Peter Jackson. Scotch I do recall that Ioan has said he'd like to work with Peter Jackson. The other director I think he said was Martin Scorcese - that would probably be an interesting role not matter what the movie. It's funny because I can't think of any character in a book I would cast him as, just because I don't read too many novels. It's more some of my own stuff where I could see him as a character, but I like both of your suggestions. GG

I've never been a Peter Jackson fan. Didn't like LOTR at all. I remember the interview where he said he wanted to work with Scorcese and also Alfonso Cuaron. I loved that interview because he mentioned some of my favourite actors, directors and films. I think I'd love to see him play the last 'real' Prince of Wales. Well, him or Matthew.

I would love to see him as Michael Blackthorne, the main character of Victoria Leigh`s novel "Blackthorne`s Woman" Blackthorne is a private datective who falls in love with the woman he`s supposed to follow. LOVE THAT BOOK!!!!

I would like to see Ioan, not in Doctor Who, but in Torchwood. I think he 'd be great opposite Jack Harkness. Oh those long coates! :naughty But Ioan said that he'd like to play a person with a darker personality :hmm: .... So I submit the idea of him playing a character in the style of Lancelot on Battlestar Galactica. I feel it's time he should try another tv-series. He said in an interview that he liked BSG. Some character that comes in conflict with Lee Adama, (naturally, who else? :wink: ). You know the drill, sharp verbal matches, semi-naked bodies, glistening of sweat, tight uniforms. Perhaps he too can have encounter with those small towels they have on the Galactica :razz: Which makes me wonder if they also cut the corners of the towels? Note to myself: check the towel-scene... again. (as if I need an excuse?! :whistle... and I don't already know the answer. :happy ) Off course they have to argue and fight at first, then become friends. I read that Spike Lee will produce and direct the sequel of Inside Man (a thriller with Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster): that is a movie that I'd like to see Ioan in, too.
