Anything chocolate. *ahem* It's about that time again.

Smoke Halibut on crackers. I ran out of last year's supply and really want some.

Burritos

Gaffer'sGirl- 05-06-2008

Just had a Taco Bell bean and cheese burrito on Friday, but what I'd really like is an El Pollo Loco Black Bean BRC burrito with guacamole and sour cream. No El Pollo Loco's up here. :weeping Probably a good thing when I think of how many calories are in that! Frances, can you even buy tortillas, there? Burritos are very easy to make if you have the goods.

Frances- 05-06-2008

Yes, I can buy tortillas in the supermarket where I usually do my shopping (I discovered when buying maple syrup that they also carry the ingredients to do some Mexican cuisine).

If you can get a can of refried beans, some cheese and enchilada sauce or taco sauce, you could make one. I have a recipe for refried beans if you can't find them canned. I just find canned easier.

We have a place out here called El Famous Burrito - the best and BIGGEST burritos you've ever tasted! The junior burrito is so big that I don't even know how anybody can eat a regular sized burrito. Because I can't even get through a junior. There's also a place by my parents' called Grande Jake's that has a really good enchiladas platter. But yeah Frances, I agree with Gaff. Burritos (like many other Mexian dishes) are very easy to make.

Well now I'm craving Mexican food!

Frances- 05-07-2008

But yeah Frances, I agree with Gaff. Burritos (like many other Mexian dishes) are very easy to make. So I'll turn next weekend into the Mexican food weekend. I'm off searching for recipes now...

So I'll turn next weekend into the Mexican food weekend. I'm off searching for recipes now... Expect me around noon!

You could send some Italian food this direction, Frances. YUmm!

Frances- 05-07-2008

We can set up a cooking club and exchange recipes. Personally, I like cooking and I even attended courses organized by Slow Food Italia.

Gaffer'sGirl- 05-08-2008

Thats a great idea, Frances. I think it would be fun to re-name our recipes so they relate somehow to Ioan's movies or characters like Happy Now Cookies, Better Than Hardtack Biscuits (Hornblower), Hob-Nob Hash. (Very Annie Mary) Just be creative with it.

GNAT0629- 05-08-2008

Yeah all this talk about Mexican food made me buy taco fixins last night when I went grocery shopping. But that recipe exchange idea is really fantastic! Let's do it!

I actually satisfied my craving by buying sausage pizza and put some anchovies on it. I know it sounds gross, but I love it.
