Rah,rah,rah................go,Girls,go...............keep it going................good for you!

No longer craving it, but my! was it good. Tonight I had breaded, fried razor clams which is a Northwest specialty. A very large and tender clam, if cooked correctly. Then, I finished it off with Ranier cherries. The best kind in my opinion. I'm quite happy.

Three weeks today, no :choc1: Feeling alright on it too (although I sense everyone around me may be suffering ) Dropped five pounds, though weight loss wasn't my intention. I'm building up my stamina by getting back to walking everywhere - I'm ashamed to say I've become very lazy , using my RA as an excuse..... I've also seen a scheme to cycle the Beach Boardwalk in LA (20 miles). Probably a pipe dream, but it spurs me on! I used to do alot of cycling before my fingers got too stiff and weak to pull the brakes)

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-09-2009

They do have bike rental places at some beaches and they used to have some that were for multiple people, so you wouldn't need to worry about pulling the brake. Just a lot of pedaling. Probably be less chance of accident than skating the board walk. Anyway, I'm game. I admire your no chocolate rule. Wish I could follow it. I lost a couple pounds, but not enough. Mainly through strenous tasks, so my stamina will be up to the job.

Craving for some sweets made of roses. About chocolate I don't think I ever was a "fan" don't have the earge in buying it ever. I am more of a "salty" person. Don't get me wrong I love sweets but just not chocolate. Only thing I seems to buy is Kinder Delice or Kinder Maxi King. I wanted to ask you what do you think of prefarances in craving of an expecting mothers? I remember my mum saying that when she was pregnant with my sister she had cravings for pineapple.

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-22-2009

I've never eaten a sweet made of roses. Does it have a delicate flavor? I should ask my Mom what she craved. I can't remember her wanting anything in particular, except Popcorn. But she still likes popcorn and she hasn't been pregnant for 37 years.

I've never eaten a sweet made of roses. Does it have a delicate flavor? I should ask my Mom what she craved. I can't remember her wanting anything in particular, except Popcorn. But she still likes popcorn and she hasn't been pregnant for 37 years. It tastes delicious. Made out of really red roses with a strong scent. My mother's sister in law used to make it. That as well as syrup of roses so we can make juice adding water. The thing about mum and pineapple was she was at the market and she bought all the things she needed and passing through some stand she saw pineapple, but not having enough money she didn't buy it, so my father brought her some other day. I have heard some specific tastes in pregnant women. Either for fruits or vegetables or some meat. Mixing sour and sweets like ice cream and pickles. Talking about popcorn, made me think of it with chocolate.

Pregnancy cravings or 'pica' ......I was a veggie for years until I got pregnant then I suddenly had a vampirish craving for meat! (my body's way of telling me I was anaemic, I suspect, and to 'beef' up for the babe!) The other thing was raw carrots - I could have munched away all day....

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-01-2009

One of the tomatoes ripening on my plant. It is almost red enough and will be sun ripened. Yumm!

That DOES sound delicious,GG. I wish I could find a decent watermelon or cantaloupe this summer. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.....can't seem to locate one anywhere!!!! And,my tastebuds are all set for it too.

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-01-2009

Yumm! A good old fashioned musk melon.

StevieT- 08-02-2009

Never had a musk melon, but I love honeydew melons - they're perfect straight from the fridge on a hot Summer's day (not that we get many of those, mind  )

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-02-2009

Musk melon is a specific type of cantaloupe. Hard to find, but worthwhile as it is very flavorful. Now I'm craving chocolate cake, but I have to wait a few days.

They pair it with proscuitto ( not sure about the spelling) a lot here as treat.
