W on Italian TV
I'd like to remind all of the Ioan fans living in Italy that 'W' will be shown on
Monday, 19 January, 2009, at 9.10 pm, on La7.
Hmmm, I wonder when it will be shown in the UK?

I think that the plan in Italy was originally to have 'W' go straight to TV without distributing it in theatres first, but then they decided to give it a limited release on 9 January. However, the theatrical version was subtitled instead of dubbed (and it is the dubbed version that is usually released in Italian theatres) and I think that very few people went see 'W' in theatres in Italy,
Beh, happily I didn't go to see the movie at the theatre.
Because I just saw the movie and Ioan 1 minute now, on "La7" TV Channel! Pfffff so sad.
What a SHORT unimportant role.
I thought it would have been a bit bit more important in the movie.
Anyway, I was glad to see him. :)
From an article a month or so back, it sounded like the role was originally a bit more meaty. Editors have there say in the end with any movie. From the sounds of it they wanted to acknowledge Blair's role in Iraq, but the story was more an interpretation of Bush than what happened in Iraq. Since that was the case, Blair's (and Ioan's ) role became smaller. The breaks of the game. It happens to all actors at one time or another. Kevin Costner was basically cut from The Big Chill and that was supposed to be his big break. Hopefully, when the DVD comes out, they'll include more of Ioan's part.
THAT would be nice!! We'll see if the 'special features' in the dvd hold any surprises,huh?
