Highly possible, GG. robably a mixture of both. Ioan elaborats on his part here......
"Gruffudd, who now lives in Los Angeles with his British wife Alice Evans, follows in the footsteps of another Welsh actor – and his good friend – Michael Sheen by playing Blair.
Although Gruffudd’s work on the movie was brief – his appearance as Blair amounts to little more than a one-minute cameo – he enthuses that he was helped enormously by Stone’s penchant for rigorous rehearsals.
“What’s lovely about the way Oliver works is that you rehearse several times, prior to principal photography – so we got to know each other as actors beforehand,” says Gruffudd.
“I was also lucky in that I know Josh socially and have known Thandie (Newton) and Elizabeth (Banks, who plays Laura Bush) for many years. And, of course, with rehearsals you get to know each other even more, and how one is going to go about playing the scene. It helps you get over any nerves you might have – and I did have them!
“So when we came to shoot it, we were just shooting it. We already were the characters. And what’s lovely is, you delight in seeing somebody transform into the other character. The first time I heard Josh speak was extraordinary; my goodness, the transformation! And the same with Thandie and Elizabeth. Their work gave me a lot confidence to trust my interpretation of Tony Blair.”

Nice insight into what it takes to even put a short scene together, isn't it? As you know, some Directors don't allow for much rehearsal . I always think having the rehearsal time helps you grow into the role, myself. And definitely less nervous! Thanks for the article, Stevie.

I agree that it is a nice insight into what it takes to even put a short scene together.
I think that if I were an actress, I'd appreciate to have the time to rehearse so that I could grow into the role and get to know the people I would be working with better.
I wonder, though, what it feels like for an actor to put much time and efforts into a scene that will last few minutes.
Gaffer'sGirl- 11-07-2008
I'd think it would be most difficult when that hard work is cut.

That's what I heard, too.

No, Blu-Ray disc can't be played on a regular dvd machine, they need a special player for them. BTW, Blu-Ray disc players cannot play dvds.
However, it sounds like "W" will be released on dvd, too.

Mine plays DVD's. It makes the picture much better as well.

I have a high definition DVD player that also much enhances normal DVDs. Seems the discs are all made with the extra detail, which can only be seen with the right player. Even my old Hornblowers have a new vibrance!

Which brand is it?
I'll definitely consider buying one, if I can find a Blu-ray disc player that can play DVD's, too. I'd like to have a device that can play Blu-ray discs, as it sounds like DVD's are a technology is going to be discontinued and a day will come when movies are only released on Blu-ray discs, but I wouldn't like it, if I had to throw my DVD collection away and re-buy all the movies that I already have.

It's Sony, not sure of the model but all the Sony ones I looked at played DVD's. As does our PlayStation 3. Perhaps it's different depending on which country your in, but almost all of the Blu-Ray players I've seen play regular DVD's.

I knew about PS3 playing Blu-ray discs, but since I'm not really into video games, I've never considered buying one.
I'll look into Sony Blu-ray disc players. It's one of the best brands in its field, actually.
