I'll have to wait till April (April 7, to be precise) before I can buy mine. Well, I think that's doable.

Red Admiral- 02-21-2009

Well, yes, I hope Ioan's deleted scenes will be there too, Matie! And of course no Welshboy collection would be complete without it.After all, if 'Shooters' and 'Black Hawk Down' qualify......... I haven't seen the film yet - I wonder if/when the UK release will be..... Like you Stevie, I didn't get to see the film when it came out, because it was only on for a week! However, I'm not too bothered, since Ioan only had one scene. I hope that the DVD will come out soon, and that he will feature in the deleted scenes.

I hope that the DVD will come out soon, and that he will feature in the deleted scenes. I'm afraid Shipmate tells us that he doesn't feature, Red. ;angry: That must be gutting for Ioan, too..... :waaah:

Shipmate- 02-21-2009

I really do feel bad for Ioan about that too. Seems like they could have done at least a little something that way to give more background for the making of the film. Maybe there will be a "director's version" that will come out later-----although somehow I have my doubts about that.

StevieT- 05-14-2009

It seems some versions (UK?) of the DVD do feature the deleted scenes, if this press release dug up by annee@ioanalice is to be believed..... British audiences should keep a special look out for Ioan Gruffudd's brilliant portrayal of Tony Blair in the film. Although most of Gruffudd's scenes ended up on the cutting room floor, they can be found in the deleted scenes featured on the DVD. http://www.prweb.com/releases/movies/politicians/prweb2413904.htm

It's good to learn that we will get to see more of Ioan on dvd than we did when we saw 'W' in theatres or TV.

Gaffer'sGirl- 05-14-2009

I should take a look at the American version. I saw W in the movie theater and was waiting for the DVD to come down in price. May have to take a peek. I think my sister owns it.

Shipmate- 05-16-2009

That's encouraging news about the deleted scenes. If anyone sees them, let us know what you think, huh???

muvidlover- 05-19-2009

There are deleted scenes in the US version... two where W, Mrs. W, Condy, and Blair are mostly discussing religion and the original outdoors scene extended a bit.

Gaffer'sGirl- 05-19-2009

Thanks Muvidlover. That's very helpful.

Frances- 05-20-2009

Thanks, Muvidlover. That's helpful, indeed. I was really hoping some of Ioan's deleted scenes would make it into the dvd version of 'W', as I have to admit that I heard people say that they hadn't even understood that it was Blair Ioan was depicting considered the little screen time that he had.

Shipmate- 05-20-2009

Has anyone seen where the 'deleted scenes' version might be for sale online anywhere???????

Havoc- 05-20-2009

Has anyone seen where the 'deleted scenes' version might be for sale online anywhere??????? If you're interested in buying http://deepdiscount.com/ is good to deal with and has a couple of versions. The cheapest on is $18.97 with free shipping. Oh, Amazon has it for $15.99. But I'll tell you. It's in my Netflix queue. The deleted scenes are on the main disk. I'm getting Slumdog Millionaire, but W is next. Of course, some people can rip and burn to watch things on their own shedule.

Shipmate- 05-21-2009

Thanks a lot,Havoc,I'll check it out.

I should take a look at the American version. I saw W in the movie theater and was waiting for the DVD to come down in price. May have to take a peek. I think my sister owns it. Just finished watching W rented from Netflix. While the Netflix dB says that they're are deleted scenes, there are not any. I'm bummed.
