Very interesting clip. Thanks for pointing it out. Sadly no Ioan, but still gives an indication of what the movie will be like.

Shipmate- 08-21-2008

I was watching these clips today without sound(didn't have my headset with me today at the library),and it looks like Brolin has a lot of Bush's mannerisms down pretty well---as well as some facial movements that he seems to use a lot during public speeches/press conferences. ----------------------Maybe Ioan's portrayal of Blair will come off the same way. Hope so.

StevieT- 08-21-2008

Tony does have some very idiosyncratic gestures and speech patterns. I suppose it depends on how good our Welshboy is at mimicry, but I hope so too, Matie!

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-21-2008

I'm betting he'd pretty good at it.

Shipmate- 08-21-2008

Me too..........have you ever heard him on those "Hornblower"book audiotapes? He's really very good at voices and mimicing accents, etc.

StevieT- 08-21-2008

Ooooooooh yes! He-van! :cloud9:

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-21-2008

I haven't had the pleasure, yet. They don't have them at our library, but I know when he did the Dylan Thomas reading, he did voices quite well. And he did do that Robin Hood recording where he read a large number of characters.

Shipmate- 08-21-2008

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. He's really good at all that kind of thing. Has a lovely ear for it! (Has a lovely ear(s) anyway.....but,I won't get into that right now.......) :whistle

StevieT- 08-22-2008

The blogger's own comment says it all, really...... Does it matter if Brolin and Langella pull off perfect impersonations? With these kind of films isn't the message the important thing, rather than the lead actor's ability to mimic their subject?

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-22-2008

Nice to see W ranked 4th by such an informed blogger. And yes, it's likely to be extremely controversial. Her reasoning and support of her top ten seemed well thought out. On another note, Michael Sheen as David Frost. Those Welshies are sure doing well for themselves.

StevieT- 08-22-2008

Yes, I can see Michael Sheen doing David Frost! He has been done so many times by so many people through the years, it will be a challenge for Sheen to do a character and not a characature - but I'm sure he's up to the task!

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-22-2008

Yeah, I think he's capable of doing a good job, too. And with make-up could really look like him. Too bad the two aren't on the Morph site that Ship posted. :happy
