Gaffer'sGirl- 09-17-2008

I used to read a lot more, now I just feel guilty that I'm not writing when I'm reading. That, even though I know it's important for a writer to read different styles, but it pulls my brain away from what I should be thinking about. :wall: Poor brain should multitask better and my:shake pc: should learn to write based on my thoughts not my fingers.

Gaffer'sGirl- 09-18-2008

Hey Gnat, I'm off to the West End with a friend. We may go as far as Forks and the Beaches or the Hoh. I'm bringing my camera.

GNAT0629- 09-18-2008

Gaff - as far as your first post there, don't feel guilty sweetie. Sometimes the brain needs a break. You're a writer and I know that sometimes it's very difficult to get either motivated to write or you're just totally blank on ideas. But, eventually it'll pass. Something will come across your path and you'll have sudden inspiration for a really great story. When that happens, it'll be like a fever that can't be contained and the next thing you know - you've written a novel or a screenplay or something. And it'll of course be brilliant because you are seriously talented sister! But in the meantime, read other people's inspirations. Give your brain a vacation and something will come along. :hug To the second post - I can't wait to see your pix!! I've had a nice little image in my head as I've read these books. And I've seen some of the settings and places they've used in the movie, but I'd really like to see your pictures. It really does sound so peaceful and beautiful there.

Gaffer'sGirl- 09-19-2008

Thanks Gnat - In this case, I should know better by now never to take on a project I'm not passionate about - what I'm working on is a good story that I'm doing for a friend, but can't say as it's one I dream about, think about when I'm driving, walking etc. which is my usual criteria. Anyway, If I work a lot tomorrow and next week I should be able to finish. Here's some pics from my trip to the West end - Forks in particular. To see others from the area, including the beaches check out the Member picture area. First on the tour - Forks Outfitters and the Thriftway Then, we saw the Forks High School We almost stopped at the Forks Timber Museum, but decided to go to the Hoh Rainforest instead. Here is a picture of me as we entered. Then, I saw someone strange and frightening eating or rather not eating his lunch. -- ********NO SPOILERS HERE*********** SASQUATCH eating lunch - What other creature did you think you'd see eating lunch in the Hoh Rainforest - A Vampire?

Thanks for the giggle, GG! I haven't read the books (yet!) but I have ultimate faith in your creative abilities. And I totally recognise your description of how an idea grabs your thoughts and you can't shake it til it's down there on he paper! (I now it's only fanfic I'm writing, but when it grabs ya, it grabs ya!)

Frances- 09-19-2008

I have to thank you for the giggle, too, GG! I like the pics very much.

marthe- 09-19-2008

Thanks Gaff for the pictures. You look very nice. You have a very warm look.

GNAT0629- 09-19-2008

:rotf: Gaff!! That was way cute! And thanks for those pix. I saw some production set photos finally of the school. It's fun to see that there really is a Forks H.S. and they really are home of the Spartans! Sasquatch! I tell ya! Stevie - I think you might like these books as well. Give it a go!

Gaffer'sGirl- 09-19-2008

It's nice to hear you all got a kick out of the pics. My niece Leticia and I had a major laugh attack trying to take shots of each other with scared looks on our faces as other tourists walked by. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun all day. It was the last day of her vacation, so we decided to do it up big. Sasquatch is legend in these parts, so when we stopped for lunch at the Hard Rain Cafe and I saw him sitting there; I knew I had to take a picture. He posed much nicer than the wooden statue around the corner.

Shipmate- 09-19-2008

Hi GG, Great pix,and thanks for posting them. You ladies have pulled me in now-----I got a copy of TWILIGHT,and have read up to Chapter 18 already. (I'm not a very fast reader, and that's pretty good for ME in four days!) Sooooo, will finish soon, and can maybe talk inteligently with you about it,okay? I DO believe I'll have to read the rest of them now too! You hooked me,Gnat! Thank you! :hug --------------------------- P.S. GG, I think I'm in love with Sasquatch! It's his "crooked smile",and "butterscotch eyes",I think!! :happy

Gaffer'sGirl- 09-19-2008

Well, you are ahead of me. I made it through Chapter 14 last night. Yes, his eyes are interesting. I wonder if they turn black when he's hungry.

GNAT0629- 09-20-2008

Hey Matie - WOW!!! :shock That's awesome! I'm so glad you're having a good time with it. I told you it's addictive. You can PM me if you want to discuss. Wait til you get to the next book. You're going to be really shocked. I was! Enjoy! I can't wait to hear your thoughts. Gaff - that's ok, you'll get there. And yeah Sasquatch should have warm golden eyes. At least they're not red!!!

Gaffer'sGirl- 09-20-2008

We can go ahead and discuss here so we can get a roundtable going. As long as we put a SPOILER ALERT when we get into plot specifics or something that will take away from the surprise for others. That way we won't have to repeat things to several people. I don't care if you're ahead of me. I'll either not read comments until I've read it all or something. - I was always one to jump to the back of the book to see if it was worth my time.

marthe- 09-22-2008

Girls as I did not know anything about this book, I looked it up. Twilight is a young adult vampire novel written by author Stephenie Meyer and published in 2005. I read the plot summary and now I understand that you all love that book. Gnat, I did not know what picture that was, but now I understand it. It is Edward Cullen played by Robert Pattinson (born in London on the 13th of May 1986 and played in Harry Potter). And the release-date of the movie is 21 November in America. I am going to look for the book, if I can find it in Belgium. You see girls, thanks to you, I have discovered a new book and a new movie. :happy Who in Belgium can tell me that ??? :dunno
