Matie - the only thing with Jacob is that he wasn't in this book very much either. He literally had 2 scenes in the book: the beach at La Push and the prom at the end. In the movie, they actually included him in one more scene than was in the book. So I'm not disappointed that he wasn't in the movie more. I am excited for New Moon, however, because I do think Taylor Lautner was the perfect choice for Jacob and am excited to see him more in the next movie.

Shipmate- 12-01-2008

Yes, I'm looking forward to NEW MOON,too. Should be good. Guess maybe I'm just a Jacob fan. So the next movie ought to satisfy THAT lack of the character, huh?

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-01-2008

I guess I would be considered Team Edward  . I tried finishing the book last night, but decided at 12:15 that it was best to go to bed. Then, I laid there awake for two hours. Silly me!

Shipmate- 12-03-2008

Too many Volturi dancing in your head,eh??

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-03-2008

Too much of something dancing in my head. I finally finished last night. Yah! I really enjoyed the way they ended it. Actually I think she left some wiggle room for more books if she is inclined to write more, yet it is still a satisfactory ending.

Shipmate- 12-03-2008

Thought the same thing myself...........cha-ching,cha-ching$$$$$$$ Go,Mama Meyer,go!

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-04-2008

Must be nice to have that in your future. Huh?

Shipmate- 12-05-2008

Sheeeeeeesh! You can say that again!

GNAT0629- 12-10-2008

Oh yay Gaff!!! I'm glad you finished and that you liked the series. I thought she did a great job ending it. I was satisfied. I got really worried for awhile when I read it. But all in all, I really liked Breaking Dawn.

O! M! G!
The movie opened here on Dec 26, and I received a text (SMS) from my good friend (who is now boarding with me) Miriam. She thought it ws fantastic and told me we were going when she got back from holiday. Well, here plan was late on the sunday, but we went on Monday (5th) night. I didnt have any money till the next day but she paid for me. :wall: How on earth I missed this I dont know!!! She gave me the book the next day and incredibly it took only 3 evenigns to read - I wanted to copare it witht he movie. But then she gave me New Moon - I read it in 1 day. Eclipse has been sold out here for ages, but a new shipment arrived into the city Wed 14th and she picked up her copy that day. Left it on the table for me Friday night and I started reading when I got home at 10.30 from a party (I hadn't been drinking). WELL  I couldn't put the darn thing down. Dad came out about 1am and I was still reading and still couldn't put it down. I finally went to bed at about 2.20isham but I had read half already. I finished it the next day. SOOOOOOO addictive. Miriam has given me all three books, as she is moving in a month or two and being realistic on what she really wants to keep, so I told her I would buy Breaking Dawn. Rang the book shop to see if they had any left - NO! The first shipment sold out, and there is a waiting list of 150 :???: for the second shipment and I might not get one then ;angry:  DAMMIT - I NEED to know what happens next. And yes, I want to go back and see the movie again!!! And buy the cd. And the dvd - when it comes out!!!!

Gaffer'sGirl- 01-22-2009

I hope you get to read Breaking Dawn. In my opinion it was the best and ties things together. I don't know if you noticed, but i took a trip over to Forks. I took a few pictures and posted them. I also got to see the movie at the theater in Port Angeles. It's only about eight miles from where I live. The line for the movie wound past Bella Italia, the restaurant that was the model for Bella and Edward's first date. It was very fun to see it there. People actually traveled from out of state to watch it there. The movie was filmed in Oregon and didn't look much like the real Port Angeles for those parts. A little too high end. PA is a very working class town and Forks even more so. Great to hear you enjoyed the movie and the books.

Shipmate- 01-23-2009

Hi, I know what you mean about the books becoming addictive. I really did like the last one best myself, too. Thought the movie was quite good, but not nearly as good as the book!!

Marian- 02-01-2009

I took my time with Breaking Dawn and wasn't disappointed, but I feel strangely deflated now!! On Sat we went to see the movie again - 3rd time for me and, well, I thought my friend was seeing it for the 4th time, but apparently not!! and she won't say exactly how many times she has seen it. Loved it all over again, and I saw stuff I hadn't seen the the the other viewings. The movie is playing only in one cinema chain, but I have a feeling that it is going to keep playing right up till the dvd comes out in April (for NZ) just like the LOTR movies stayed in theatres till the dvds came out. I dont mind - might have to make it a weekly 'treat'. I bought the cd on Saturday - it was cheaper to buy it at the cinema than the cd store. Love it!! I need an iPod or mp3 player so I can listen all the time. I like Rob Pattinson's track too although my friend doesn't - apart from the indistinct words!! Meanwhile, waiting VEEEEEERYYYY impatiently for HP and the Half-blood Prince

Gaffer'sGirl- 02-02-2009

Glad you got to see it again. I only got to see it once, but it was in Port Angeles, so that makes up for a viewing. Did you check out Stephanie Meyers website? She used to have a version of the first book told from Edward's POV. Don't know if it's still there, but it might take care of feeling that you are missing the characters.

Marian- 02-03-2009

I have the first chapter of Edward's pov in the back of ... Twilight (I think), but I wanted to read more. My friend told me that this is to be published soon, but I will go to Stephanie's website to check it out. Thanks. Oh, I remembered I had a question for you GG. Where is the waterfall located?? This is the one that is seen as Bella and Edward walk from their 4WD to the baseball game. It is so beautiful and I was wondering if it was on the Olympic Peninsula or another location. Also, may I ask where it is you have put your photos that you took around the Olympic Peninsula?? thanks again.
