Gaffer'sGirl- 06-23-2008

Makes me think that I should have had more confidence in my own abilities when it comes to film criticism.

Admin Edit. Annee, I've moved your post to the Blog section, as it wasn't news or a review on the TV SET. Feel free to repost it properly there. :The General:

I'll help you - it's either pretentious drivel from a poster who's too far up their own backside OR it's a translation from a different mother tongue that doesn't translate well. :dunno

< Or perhaps it is both, from what I could see from the entries in the blog. :dunno A perfectly plausible third option, frances! :happy

Holy Cow,Annee, ---sorry,I'm at a loss for words on that one (slaps palm of hand to forehead)! I'd be forever trying to figure that one out,I'm afraid.

Got to say, it reads like a computer programer translator without any correction or understanding on the part of the writer. Just because the words are English, doesn't mean it's been translated.

I watched this movie again this evening. I sure hope some others get the opportunity to see it. It was playing on Showtime recently and I caught the last few minutes. That reminded me of how much I enjoyed it overall. Ioan's role in this was very well played. He was a great compliment to Sigorney Weaver's over the top character, yet at times funny in his own right. He also did an excellent job portraying a man with conscience who wants to succeed. A man who must choose between commerce and art; success and family; the lowest common denominator or his own high standards. Though most of us have said we favor him in period costumes; he looks great in this.
