Time for Ioan?
Which period in history do you prefer Ioan to play? (and don't forget to tell us why!)
Stevie
I am a sucker for Ioan's "Not-So-Ancient Past" films. I just adore his Amazing Grace and Hornblower work.
Hard choice. I could have picked any of the first four options. I picked present only because he did a very good job in Warriors and Happy Now and there were already two votes for not so distant past and I wished to even out results.
I chose 'future' no so much because I like the F4, (because I didn't  ) but because I'm just crazy for Sci-fi and I'd love to Ioan make a real sci-fi movie.
But it was a difficult choice, because I also like 'not so ancient -Horatio' and I also loved him in Warriors and Happy Now... So it was a difficult choice.
Love the Amazing Grace, Hornblower group
Nothing beats a man in uniform!!!!! And a GREAT public speaker (with a little humor and attitude)
The King Arthur period was a VERY close second - the all black leather outfit Lancelot wears in the stables - WHOOSH - just knocked me right off my feet!!!!
I'm gonna go with "Not-so-Ancient Past eg. Hornblower, Amazing Grace" because I think Ioan was made for these type of films. He looks, talks, and really feels the roles. And just like Gerdie said "Nothing beats a man in uniform!" I second that!! :) But I gotta say I have loved every movie I have seen Ioan in so far!! :) --Sarah
I had to go with not so ancient past, too for much the same reasons as the rest. Two of my favorite Ioan movies, he looks good in a uniform and I like the genre of historical movies. Though I must say Lancelot was close. Since I've only seen Warriors in small chunks on a small screen and I haven't seen Happy Now, those were kind of eliminated by default.

Stevie -- I wanna know what your fave time is for Ioan!?
I think I'd have to say Present, as two of my favourite Ioan projects are Warriors and Happy Now. The characters are so deep and interesting.
Of course, I love Lancelot and Horatio too - who doesn't? But there's just something that speaks to me about John Feeley and Max Bracchi at the moment.
Thanks for asking, Cherry! :hug
I'd like to see him "star" in a really good present-day Hollywood film, partly because that's what I think he wants to do and partly because I'd like to see if he could do it.
Maybe I'm finding Recent Past appealing because I've just recently seen Forsyte Saga and S&G. Ioan just seems made for roles like these somehow. But, I do fancy him in black leather quite a bit, too! mmm...mmm...mmm!!!
I have to be the non-conformist and go with the ancient past. I just love him playing the manly, heroic type, and boy can he wield a sword!
Oh yes, and the black leather.....
