Frances, I'm afraid not many of us will get to see it before it goes to DVD. I think Lavinia and NattyKay saw it before IOL closed and that's all I remember. Quite sad considering some of the junk that can get wide release. I've not seen The TV Set yet, so I'm not the best person to say it, but I agree with you here: considering some of the junk I got to see in theatres, this film may have deserved a go and get a wider release, internationally. I agree with both the comments listed here. I would love to see this film, but considering it only got a limited release in the US - it seems unlikely that it will be released except on DVD. I thought that I read somewhere that there would be an international release :?: Perhaps I was dreaming. I just hope that it doesn't prove to be hard to get, and that the DVD release is restricted to Region 1 only. That would be a shame.

Actually, yes, Lavinia DID see it and posted about it right before IOL demise. The TV Set was quite good. It was an adult film in the sense that it was for the grown-ups - not the kiddies or teens who ar elooking for talking penguins and eye-popping special effects. As for the nudity and language, I barely recall any. There was a tush in it? I don't remember that at all. If it happened, it must have been in a very non-sexual way. Anyway, Sigourney Weaver should be nominated for an Oscar (and I will be stealing the monlogue from it for audition use! Tee hee hee!) and it is the first time I've ever really liked Duchovny in anything at all. And Ioan did a fine job of portraying an exec from the BBC who has more taste than is good for him in La La Land.Something happened with his character that I would have liked to know the resolution of. That's all I will say as many of you see rarring to rent it. And when I saw it, my boyfriend and I were the only two in the theatre. We wre both annoyed by that as it was such a good movie. We both enjoyed it very much. He is even talking about renting when it comes out as he feels it would be worth the viewing again. Lavinia

As for the nudity and language, I barely recall any. There was a tush in it? I don't remember that at all. If it happened, it must have been in a very non-sexual way. I have to say that I felt the language was very limited, too. I guess I was being extra cautious. In the past, I've recommended things and when asked about language or nudity said there wasn't much and then had the person upset because there was more than they thought. The tush was DD when his back was hurting. very non-sexual, but was visible none the less. I couldn't remember what shots they used from the show "Slut Wars", so once again I thought it best to err on the side of caution. Do you recall what they showed for that? I just remember thinking it was funny how far the networks will go for ratings. I thought the last scene with Seth Greene was hilarious, but couldn't remember the show clips on the big screen. And Ioan did a fine job of portraying an exec from the BBC who has more taste than is good for him in La La Land.Something happened with his character that I would have liked to know the resolution of. That's all I will say as many of you see rarring to rent it. I'm with you, I would have liked to know what happened to the Richard character after the headiness of that day wore off and what path his career took. GG

Credit Goes To My Irish Sister. I think this sneak peak is not new; I enjoyed seeing it again, though. Sigourney on Fire Sigourney Weaver, one of my all-time favorite actresses, should have been in the running for 2007's Supporting Actress awards for her dark role as a ruthlessly hilarious network exec in Jake Kasdan's The TV Set. The movie is just okay, but Weaver is fantastic. Her role was originally written for a man, but upon reading the script, she pursued the part and told Kasdan not to change a single word. The result is pure comedic heaven, and Weaver is in top form as an icy, misogynistic bastard who just happens to be a woman. See this movie now just for her involvement. Below is a sneak peek, one of my very favorite scenes in which Weaver's Lenny discusses casting choices with Ioan Gruffudd's British partner Richard. Beware, Lenny's got a sharp tongue. http://yourmoviebuddy.blogspot.com/2008/01/sigourney-on-fire.html
