Thanks for the release date, Frances - a welcome titbit to keep us going!

Silvia- 12-14-2007

Indeed, Stevie. Having a release date is like being a step closer.

HHhatholder- 01-26-2008

Oooh I wonder how filming is going or if they've finished already.

Shipmate- 01-26-2008

As far as anybody knows,HHh, it's "in the can" as they say. They wrapped up mostly back in October/November, right? Anyone out there hear differently?

StevieT- 01-26-2008

According to IMDB it's 'post production', so Ioan was filming for just a few weeks. Not sure what this means as to the size of his role, or the scale of the production (it seems to have been low-key and I did wonder if it's for TV?)

HHhatholder- 01-26-2008

Oooh that'd be good!

Not sure what this means as to the size of his role, or the scale of the production (it seems to have been low-key and I did wonder if it's for TV?) I think that filming lasted slightly over one month and I think this has to do with the scale of the production not being huge. IMDb states that the estimated budget for this film is $ 27,000,000. Anyway, the film sounds good and, therefore, I hope I will be able to see it.

Gaffer'sGirl- 01-26-2008

I guess this coming year's projects run counter to those who have said that Ioan is only pushing for or willing to be in big money projects. This one, Fireflies and Agent Crush seem to be roles taken for enjoyment as well as the money. With all his time spent promoting last year his time for new work was limited, but I do recall him saying that he really pushed for a role in Fireflies. Both Moonacre and Agent Crush seem like fun projects with limited time commitment.

Frances- 01-26-2008

And what to say about The TV Set? :hmm: I agree with you, GG, that Ioan is open to be in small projects, if he thinks they are interesting or funny to make.

HHhatholder- 01-27-2008

Is that ever going to be released?!

Frances- 01-27-2008

At the moment, a release date has been announced for the Netherlands only (9 October, 2008). A generic 2008 is there for the UK, while there are no details for other countries.

HHhatholder- 01-27-2008

Oh that's rubbish! I bet it'll be out on DVD in the States before it's released over here so I might just buy a region 1 copy.

Gaffer'sGirl- 01-27-2008

If you are still talking The TV Set HHHatholder, it is already released as a DVD in the U.S. It only played in one place in the state of Washington, so I treked a couple hours to Seattle to see it and have since bought the DVD. Hope you can see it. If you are talking Secret of Moonacre, I hope we all can see it swiftly. I can't wait. Shipmate encouraged me to read the book and I enjoyed it.

HHhatholder- 01-27-2008

I've just ordered The TV Set from Amazon. Moonacre sounds really good. I hope that it gets a wider release than the aforementioned TV Set.

Oh that's rubbish! I bet it'll be out on DVD in the States before it's released over here so I might just buy a region 1 copy. Sorry, Ceri. I thought you were talking about The Secret of Moonacre and my reply was about that film, but if you were talking about The TV Set, the DVD has actually already been out in the US since 25 September, 2007. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find info about a possible theatrical or DVD release date for The TV Set in Europe.
