Frances, it just looks like a classy, kind of even romantic place, sort of a place I'd like to hang out in for a while........language would pose a problem however. Ah well, see some of it at the movies!!
In fact, Budapest is a classy and romantic sort of place (Prague, in the Czech Republic, is, too). I can recall that I could easily survive on my English and German, though I have to admit that I feel better at ease in places where I understand signs and ads on the streets and shops and where I understand what it is said on TV when I switch it on.

I love all of Europe!!!!!!!! What a fantastic place it is. Hopefuloly one day I will travel all around it!

Did you all see that IMDB lists Ioan as playing Sir Benjamin, owner of Moonacre Manor? If this is accurate, it could mean a lot of screentime. :woohoo
Shipmate- 11-03-2007
I knew it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, the role will fit Mr. I! If they follow the book, and I know that could be a BIIIIIIIIG "if", Ioan will be on screen quite a lot. (IhopeIhopeIhopeIhope!) Oooooh, there could be worse things than that by far,right?---------------Maybe this would be a good time to start the LITTLE WHITE HORSE thread-----------hmmm? Also hope that some of you would like to read the book. It's kinda different, and think you might find it enjoyable.
Gaffer'sGirl- 11-03-2007
Thanks Shippy. I'm so glad you've read the book. I wouldn't have had any idea if that was a good role or not, if not for your inside information. Hope I can discuss more with you soon.
Gaffer'sGirl- 11-08-2007
Ok Shipmate, I picked up the book today, so let's get started discussing. We probably should start a separater thread to avoid spoiler problems. You can either do it or I'll start it when I get back from the movies. I'm going to go see American Gangster since it's my day off after working the last eight days. Whoopee!
Shipmate- 11-08-2007
I'll go ahead and give the new thread a shot.........

Congrats on your promotion shippy!!!!!!!!
I still don“t know what the book is about, but I hope it means a lot of screen time for the boyo, and a great step on his career.
Shipmate- 11-11-2007
If they stick to the action of the book, then Ioan should be in it quite a bit.

If the information on IMDB is accurate, then it is very good news indeed!
I've never read the book - must get a copy.
Shipmate- 11-17-2007
Hope you do,Red Admiral,..... I believe you'll find it entertaining at the very least.
Gaffer'sGirl- 11-17-2007
I must say I enjoyed reading the book. It was the type of book I would have loved as a child and still found entertaining as an adult. The description of locations and characters in the book are extremely well done. Very easy to visualize in your mind's eye.
Shipmate- 11-17-2007
........And something I noticed about the ending of the story.....(No, I won't reveal it!),......the reader is left with a decision(s) to make. Hmmm, if this sounds at all mysterious to you, then you're in for a good read! (After that maybe, slip it over to an unsuspecting kid.)
