Now that would be fantastic news. Keeping my fingers crossed. The movie about John Lennon sounds quite interesting, too. If Weinstein distributes it, we might see that here.

Oooooooooo,do hope that's a good sign for (US) us!..................

Although this blogger is less than complimentary, I think she makes some good points about the film and its flaws. There’s also one scene early in the film with several glaring continuity errors that just can’t be forgiven in any commercial picture. This is very true. During one breakfast scene, Sir Benjamin's glass of 'hangover cure' (including raw egg!) magically refills itself after he has downed it in one. http://guides.clickthecity.com/movies/?p=4717

Ouch! A review like that could really smart. As was mentioned previously on this thread,I believe, there was a terrific amount of cutting done to the film, and perhaps in a lot of instances this is what makes the quality of the story--and the individual performances--seem weaker. Whoever did the editing, plus whoever approved the edits bears the lion's share of the way things turned out--------do I understand this correctly?

Caroline Lost, who sings the lullabye version of 'Stars', the Moonacre theme, has this to say on her blog.... Lojinx have almost finished editing the video for Stars which will coincide with UK DVD release and the US theatre release of The Secret of Moonacre. This will be my very first video clip for a song of mine and I'm feeling pretty special about it! Here's a still from the rough cut: My fingers are :fingcross: that this will mean a general release for our US friends in July....... http://blog.carolinelost.com/2009/05/that-was-news.html

That looks more promising. I hope so.

This short entry intrigues me - can anyone explain what an "autism friendly" screening is? Film The Secret of Moonacre (U). The Corn Exchange, Newbury, autism-friendly screening, 10.30am. Also showing at 1pm and 3.30pm. (01635) 522733 or www.cornexchangenew.co.uk http://www.bollywood91.com/keystone-picnic-table-6699-091.html

Shipmate- 05-23-2009

Hah! I have no idea. That's funny,I hope it's not meant as a put-down toward the film...........

StevieT- 05-23-2009

No I don't think so.....I think it must be something like an 'epilepsy friendly' show (ie no flashing lights etc) But I'm not sure what you would change to be autism friendly........

Gaffer'sGirl- 05-23-2009

I wonder if they are located near a schoo or residence for Autistic children. Maybe to let people know they won't be kicked out for inappropriate behavior.

StevieT- 06-02-2009

I think this reviewer has hit the nail on the head for Moonacre..... Personally, as a grown-up, I didn’t find The Secret of Moonacre amazing, even though it made me laugh every now and then and it ended up as a decent experience. http://www.everythingmixed.com/movie-review-the-secret-of-moonacre/

Shipmate- 06-02-2009

That's it,Stevie,a film for children and tweens. A nice, sweet, film for families to see together. One for Ioan to be proud of,and to sit down with his child someday and watch! One I wish I could see too------------------ :weeping :weeping
