That is a nice article. Thanks Stevie. Wish they would have asked her about some of the other actors in Moonacre. Let's see! Who was I thinking of?
Yeah,me too,GG......whoever could we mean,I wonder? Thanks for the pictures, ladies. Frances, thank you for singling out the one of Ioan. It looks so-----romantic,doesn't it?!
And we all need a little romance at times, eh, girls! Nice of Ioan to give it out so liberally (:kiss Thankyou, Welshboy!)

I loved this quote from the BBFC's assessment.....
"The film also contains infrequent use of very mild bad language such as ‘damned’. There is also a scene in which a dog appears to be shot but the injury occurs off screen and the dog soon recovers. "
I'd definitely say that that sounds mild. What is a U rating?
Stands for Universal, meaning anyone at all could see it on their own, no matter what age.
Hey,now that sounds like a very nice and positive type of review! Hooray! I DO want to see it very much.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this film and the pictures and trailer certainly whet the appetite!
We'll have to see what the reviews are like when it's due for general release, although if I had as many pounds for the number of films which I've seen and enjoyed despite poor or bad reviews, I would be a lot richer !
I prefer to make up my own mind about a film which I fancy, and have rarely been disappointed.
I'm with you, RedAdmiral.
I'm certainly looking forward to The Secret of Moonacre and I'll go see it independently from what the reviews are like. I learnt long ago not to blindly trust reviews when choosing which movies to see and make up my ow mind about movies that I fancy. Sometimes, I even wonder if critics and I are seeing the same movies  Well, perhaps the matter is that I look for something different and have different expectations about movies than critics.
I'm with you two!
I often wonder what it's like to be a film critic - watching film after film, it would be hard not to get jaded about all but the most jaw-dropping performances. I wonder if they see all of every film, or if they watch a synopsis? GG?
I'm glad you said that,Stevie. I've wondered that before myself. How on earth could one stand to see ALL of that many awful-to-only-average movies?
Well, except during film school I've never watched movies to the level of a film critic. There are some I just can't bring myself around to seeing whether they are considered good or bad. It think most of the truely respected critics Ebert, Kael, Maltin, Medved, etc. and those who actually do educational critques watch the whole thing and in some cases, repeatedly. Although I don't think they see everything. Sometimes they are invited to screenings, sometimes they have to wait until it is released. There is something to be said about watching with a normal audience rather than other nit-picky critics who you are trying to top or an empty theater. Momma Mia would be one of those.
Then, there are the unscrupulous who do write just a short synopsis and get names wrong or events and you know they haven't watched the whole thing or fell asleep. Or the scandalous reviewer a few years back who really did not exist, but was a shill for a particular studio and gave great quotes for ads for several movies - like a Knight's Tale (which I loved) and a Rob Schneider film which I refused to see.
That said, if I got paid to review movies, I would be willing to sit through both the good ones and the bad. Making movies and getting them made is such hard work that it would be a very rare filmmaker who sets out to make a truely awful film. It does happen. For me, it can be kind of fun to analyze the missteps that made a movie bad and what elements make it good.
Ah,now I see! Many thanks for explaining, GG! I guess one would need a lot of concentration to be a film critic.
Nice biggie piccie of Ioan as Sir Benjamin......(clickable) I'm lovin' the stubble and the hair and the.....oh, heck, I'm just a-luvvin' it! :love2:
