Great analysis, usHHFan. So, I think it is highly probable that if someone did push the Captain that it was done for the good of the service and Hornblower remains as always an unintentional, lucky hero.
 GG
Here are my musings on the whole Sawyer issue. ;)-uHf
Thanks, uHf, for sharing your analysis of the film! It pales in comparison to the great debate, but I totally agree with you about the "Mr. Butler....Mr. Buttland...." scene. It drives me nuts that they didn't bother to fix this!
Ah, great discussion!
From my viewings, and much discussion on IO (this topic would come up with every new batch of fans, and there is nothing wrong with that!), I always felt that no one really pushed the Captain, that he slipped (over balanced) and Horatio tried to grab him and stop him from falling, but it was too late.
And of course, Archie did the most noble thing knowing his own fate and accepting the blame. *sob*
I know I only drop by and post every now and then, but I have been dropping by every couple of days, so a big hello to every one!!
Welcome aboard!! Good to you here Olwen! Yes, the HH mutiny question is always fun & interesting to discuss!! :)
