AceShowbiz is showing a release date of 2010 (month TBA)...... http://www.aceshowbiz.com/movie/kid_the/

Frances- 04-27-2009

Hopefully, it will be released at the beginning rather than at the end of 2010...

Nicolette- 04-27-2009

Yes, I hope so too. :/

Shipmate- 04-27-2009

Gaffer'sGirl- 04-27-2009

So one year to wait. I'm just glad it's a go.

:excited: The Kid has gone to Filming' status on IMDbPro! (makes it real, somehow.......okay, overreaction is my middle name! )

Jodie Whittaker joins the cast.....and the Mail seems more impressed with the actress than it is with the idea of the film..... Hey, and Ioan will be re-united with Augustus Prew, of Moonacre fame, as he plays teen Kevin! Watch out for... Jodie Whittaker JODIE WHITTAKER who joins Natascha McElhone, Ioan Gruffudd, Alfie Allen, Bernard Hill, James Fox and Shirley Ann Field in The Kid. This is the movie based on Kevin Lewis's misery memoir about his rotten childhood in South London, where his parents did ghastly things to him. He lived to write about it all and now Nick Moran is directing a film version. I wrote about this last year, but it has taken that long to gather the cast and assemble some money (not a lot) to make it. Kevin will be portrayed at different ages by three actors, beginning with William Finn Miller as a pre-teen, Augustus Prew as a teen and Rupert Friend as the older Kevin. Mr Moran last directed Telstar, his portrait of rock pioneer Joe Meek and the crazy goings-on at his flat in Holloway when rock 'n' roll was taking baby steps. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1175909/Baz-Bamigboye-Could-Anna-Friel-make-bed-breakfast-sexier-Tiffanys.html

Jodie Whittaker joins the cast.....and the Mail seems more impressed with the actress than it is with the idea of the film..... Definitely, but I'm not in a position to complain, as there are films that I decided to go see not because I thought they were good or in spite of my knowing little about the films themselves or my thinking they were not the kind of films I usually enjoy, but rather because I like their director or the actors that were in them.

As we can see from the latest pictures (see http://ioanzone.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1186&start=15 and http://ioanzone.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=943&start=75 ) It seems as if Ioan is not yet/has finished filming in Britain for The Kid....we await more news.......

Shipmate- 05-09-2009

I wonder,.................would Ioan necessarily have to go abroad for his part of the film? I mean, things might be interior sets for what he's doing,or shot in outdoor settings where background looks 'generic' to most any location-------???? Just a thought........... :dunno

StevieT- 05-09-2009

Well, that would mean shipping cast and crew to LA and I'm not sure he's that famous, Matie. The filming is listed as being in and around London. Maybe he's jetting out as we speak - these things are never done in any kind of order, are they?

Shipmate- 05-09-2009

No,it was just a thought---a fleeting one,I guess.

Blue Eyes- 05-26-2009

Sounds like a great project!

StevieT- 06-19-2009

IMDB Pro is reporting The Kid as in Post Production. That filming has finished seems to be confirmed by this article on David O'Hara..... ....O'Hara, who recently wrapped the features "The Kid" with Rupert Friend and Natascha McElhone..... http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003984941

Gaffer'sGirl- 06-19-2009

Ioan must have slipped his role in there at sometime and we just didn't know about it.
