"necessus est" (My father's mnenomic on how to remember the spelling of the word necessary. It is the Latin for "it is necessary" and there are more "s" sounds than "c" sounds, so there are more "s"s than "c"s in necessary!)

My old Latin and Ancient Greek teacher telling me that i should always remember how to spell 'necessary' because it is made up from 'necesse and est' Why she thought I'd be able to spell those words any better, Ive never been sure :roll: PS I struggled with the Classics at school :wink:
