Tall Ships!
I'm super excited! The Tall Ships' Races enter my hometown this week! The first ship arrived and was moored yesterday, most of the ships should arrive tomorrow. Over 20 Class A ships (meaning the really big ones) and probably a hundred smaller vessels of different riggings and origins! I'll be in maritime heaven! I'm going to go to the riverside on Thursday with my camera and get the feel of the age of sails. (Perhaps I'll do a Hornblower rewatch soon, too.) It's a shame that I'm actually not going to be in Turku for the whole weekend, as I would've loved to spend full four days just immersing in the general maritime atmosphere, trying to spot a HH lookalike or something. :Horatio wink: On the other hand, I'll be spending a couple of days by the seaside in something called Fantasy Feast, where I get to relax in medieval / fantasy themed surroundings with likeminded friends. Which is nice, too. Although I would've preferred these two events being on separate weekends... Oh, and my kitchen is very nearly all done! In other words, I'm having a great week and feel super happy. I hope you guys are having a good week, too. :excited:

That sounds like a great weekend, Yvannie. It would be so hard to choose what to do. It's wonderful to have so many options, but as you say, too bad they fall on the same weekend. The Fantasy Festival sounds like a lot of fun. Congrats on your kitchen being finished.

That is great Yavannie. The ships including the Grand Turk, were in Belgium in the last weekend of May. But I could not go. I went two years ago. It is very exciting. So you must certainly go and see it. On the other hand, I wish you a fine weekend in Fantasy Feast. That sounds very nice and relaxing. Great that you have a great week and that you are happy. Send us some pictures of the ships and of that Fantasy Feast. Thanks.

Awwww, enjoy yourself, Yavannie! :hug I loved the Tall Ships Race when it came to Newcastle a few years ago. I live right by the river and was lucky to see them all passing up the Tyne towards the quayside, too. Think I posted pics somewhere........Looking forward to seeing yours!
