Summing up 2007
The grand summing up of the glorious year of 2007 So the year began on December 26th 2006 when I choose to quietly leave my Assistant Manager position (managing NOT to shove my keys up my boss’s ass – a great show of will and restraint I can assure you, after having been verbally abused for over two hours regarding my the mistakes made because of my learning disorders, which she regarded as insubordination) All I can say is if she hadn’t had a mental hemorrhage and poor judge of character, I would have remained in my dead end job and not explored the options opened to me. I received Over $6,000 for my disabilities claim. Though I lost my apartment, I managed to pay off my landlord and most of my outstanding debts. My best friend made a huge sacrifice by taking me, my cat and 46 tons of stuff to accompany my hoarding binges and total lack of organizational skills. She has handled the invasion quite well. In between having to vacate my apartment, my father nearly had a heart attack and needed to have a stint put in and, at the same time, my stepfather had to have his prostate removed because of prostate cancer. Both are doing well. My tin pot Baretta broke and became terminal. No way to buy a new car, my father has loaned me his rather than to try to buy yet another used car that will fall apart. My most beloved Mim had to be put down September 17th 2007. She was 18. Guilt still remains. She became sick just after I moved. I don’t feel like paid enough attention to her. I hope I was a good cat mommy. I miss her. Got contact lenses. I can see…. Between 2005 and 2006, I thought about suicide about 78 times. This year, only 10. I started Vocational Rehabilitation through the Department of Labor and received new -*test*-('")ing for my learning disorders, as well as psychiatric counseling since I had some unresolved anger issues due to the way I had been treated over the years because of them. I was given a grant to take classes at a nearby community collage. Art Fundamentals: A Visual Communications: B In pursuit of my Graphic Design career, I have been accepted to Chubb Institute. Chubb will teach me: Design Basics Digital Imaging Digital Print Visual Communications Web Scripting Web Development Game Development 3D Modeling 3D Animation Video/Audio Production Multimedia Production Portfolio Production Training Equipment/Hardware/Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXpress, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Premiere Pro, 3D Studio Max, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Adobe Encore DVD, Dynamic HTML and CSS. 7am to 12pm. Monday thru Friday for 48 weeks. Class start on Jan 28th. Chubb costs $17,950. I can get financial aid up to about 95% of tuition. I just have to find out whether the State of NJ will pay for the $4,700. If they won’t, then I will have to either get a grant or a scholarship or I will have to try to get a student loan with a co-signer since my financial sucks. I will have pay back $7,500 of federal loans. This means I get to enter the terrifying world of repaying student loans. For Christmas this year, my mother gave me money for my first sewing machine. I am every excited. I have begun to knit (with a provo craft loom), quilt and embroider. Basically, textile art. This is the first thing I have written in a year, but I have been doing research for an original story. My first non-fanfic. My goals for this year: Not to have a complete breakdown and start bleeding out my eyes going to school and working. Not to go deeper into debt. To pursue a much, much, much better job/career my graphic design. To pursue my art talents. To pursue my writing. Not to drive V’paws insane. :o) PS. I love my Nicorette Key Receptor Gremlins.

Having been dabbling with Web Design for the last few months, I'm in awe of your studies, Mim. I wish you all the best; it sounds fascinating!

Much good fortune to you for 2008 Mim! By the way, in your writings of some of the terrible things that happen to you.......I know they must have been awful to endure, but your wording made it difficult not to laugh at the visuals. I hope you don't find me cold and heartless by saying that, but I think it's a compliment to your creative writing skills. Good luck this year! I hope we hear more from you!
