I laughed at many Johnny-Ben exchanges. What I loved about the film, is that fact many of the exchanges between Johnny and Ben weren't as...childish. It showed more compassion and more of a friendship instead of the butt of the jokes.

I'm seeing it Thurs. and I can't wait. I got my dad the extended edition of the first one and it included a free ticket to see the 2nd one. Pretty sweet.

I noticed it, too, that you see a real friendship develop between Johnny and Ben in this movie.

Yes I agree with all of you - I really liked this movie! I'm so happy I saw it on the big screen too because the FX are wonderful. And yes the Silver Surfer totally stole the show, he is an amazing character.
Hey Hil - I have a feeling I know which part you speak of. Cuz I was laughing too. I did like the characters' stories so much more than the last film. It did move quickly and yes it's 100 times better than the first and 1000 times better than Spidey3.
This is just the type of movie you go to see simply to have a good time. Nothing Oscar caliber here, but there never is in any of the comic book super hero flicks. Good amount of cheese and camp in this, but the effects and the storyline take charge over it all. My little brother was with us too and he just cracked up during this movie. He LOVED the Silver Surfer!
I will definitely be owning this DVD!!

I went to see it last night and really liked it a lot. It was I think exactly what it was supposed to be for its genre - light-hearted, attention-grabbing, fun entertainment. The Four do interact as a family and all of the characters have grown in the character arc sense, especially Reed and Johnny.
I even enjoyed the little dance sequence which I was afraid might be embarassing. (I didn't like the Spidey one - it just didn't fit with the franchise or character to me) Anyway, I loved the look on Ioan's face as he was dancing. Always very expressive.
I'm sure I'll go back to see it again. No, it's not Oscar worthy performances like Amazing Grace possibly is, but that's not what it is aimed at. It was an entertaining evening and yes, the Silver Surfer was cool.
I should add I think Ioan nailed the American accent this time. Maybe the time in the U.S. has helped or better yet maybe he and Matthew Rhys practice together. That would be fun to hear and see. :happy

I agree with you GG i saw the film yesterday afternoon with my friend and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the dance sequence they have loosened up the character of Reed in the 2nd film so he isn't so much of a science nerd it certainly enhanced Ioans performance even more. I was glad aswell that Johnny and Ben were nicer to each other in this film and that Ben is still with Alicia. All in all a fab film and once I will be owning on Dvd.

GG - I agree with you 100% on the Spidey reference. That made the movie completely rediculous to me.
This is definitely just plain loads of fun. I'm glad it did well over the weekend. I wish it would have done a bit better at the box office - I actually thought it would. But FOX doesn't know how to market this movie. I blame them.

I went and saw it tonight with my friend who got the pictures of FF at Nascar. She went more for Chris Evans and I for Ioan, but we both agreed the movie as a whole was just fun and we could appreciate the attributes of the other person's fantasy. I may have to go again.

Sorry for posting in the wrong thread you guys :dunce: , I was just so excited I must of not seen the other thread...my apologies :sad ....here is my post-didn't know if I can move it but it's okay....
I just saw the movie and I loved it!!!! A couple of my friends went to see it with me but they went for their own purposes and mine was for you know who--- IOAN !!!!! I had a blast and I believe I will buy the movie ...Thing I didn't like was the parts where you can seriously tell that jessica alba is wearing a wig and we all knew she would and seriously what's up with those eyes!!!! You can tell that her eyes were so fake too!!!!! Other than that it's cool....I just want to know how she got those dark blue eyes

I agree about the eyes Maricruz, especially at certain times, such as when she was looking out the window dressed in the bathrobe. Other times, like when she wore the glasses they looked OK. Her hair was kind of the same way, sometimes not so bad and sometimes just not.

I never really noticed the eyes, but I don't think I was really looking for it. I was really wrapped up in the story. Yes I am that much of a nerd

It does move quickly and keep you interested. And I would have to say my eyes were more often riveted to someone other than Sue Storm.

True, music-freak-88, I was interested in the story and in IOAN, but it's not like I was just gawking at her :sailor: , and I agree with you GG, but sometimes they were just too surprising, so-there"look-at-me" i'm going to hypnotize you with my eyes-they were just too-can't find the words :dunce: , sorry.....but YES l loved both their performance and quality in the film. :applause:

I was so much more focused on the actual characters. My cousin got me started on the comics so I was so much more intersted in the storyline. But I do have to say, after reading the comics, Ioan plaued Reed to the T. It was actually incredible.
So I'm very pleased with the outcome. I still think Chris Evans did a great job with the many emotions Johnny had.
StevieT- 06-25-2007
Well, I finally got to see the film this afternoon! At first I was thinking "Oh, here we go, stilted acting again from Ioan. This is going to be awful." but the more I watched, I realised that it's Reed's character that is stilted. Ioan shows his thought processes well and captures that nerdy not dealing with emotions aspect brilliantly - especially when Sue is....cough, cough....'not well' - either that or he was incredibly cheesy in that scene (I like to think the former)
I did think there were acouple of times when Ioan was concentrating on getting his accent right more than his acting, but if they kept changing the lines at the last minute, as has been reported, I guess that's unavoidable.
I loved the action scenes, especially the ones in London ( but I would, wouldn't I? draining the Thames, Wow!)
I know the film is rated PG, but don't you just want to see some more action between Reed and Sue? I thought the chemistry between Sue and the Surfer was great. there was one moment where Sue talks about her hen do and then we cut to Reed looking for something in the attic, or somewhere adn i was thinking "He's looking for the tape/pics of her hen night. Yey! He's going to get jealous and hot blooded!" but surprise, surprise he was building.....well, you know!
I think overall, I enjoyed the film and I'm glad I went.
