Rugby anyone??
The All Blacks (the NZ national) team are to play the Tricolouers (the French National team) in my home town tonight. The main road outside is so busy. It is never like this normally. By 6pm on any given day we could play a game of rugby in the middle of the road. I will try to take photos from the bedroom window, but the batteries are just about flat in my new camera  I will also try to post links tomorrow if I find any that show my home town.

It sounds like the rugby national team commands the same kind of response in New Zealand that the football (or soccer, for our American friends) national team does in Italy. Good luck to the All Blacks! Hope the match with the French national team will be a good and fair one.

Rugby is a minor sport in the U.S. Soccer is growing in interest, but football, basketball and baseball are our biggest sports on television. Unless you count NASCAR. Golf is on every weekend during the Spring and Summer, but no Rugby. I did see the Blacks stadium when I was in New Zealand. I have a little refrigerator magnet that I bought, too. Good luck to your team, Marian. As long as they aren't playing Wales.

I find Rugby a much more, ahem, engaging game than footie.....:twisted Personally, I like rugby (and basketball) better than football, too. I think it has to do with its being a faster game.

I didnt watch the game, I was watching something else; but we lost 27-22; Next Sat is the second test in Wellington I did take a photo from my front door, and when I find the cable for the camera, I'll upload it.

I find Rugby a much more, ahem, engaging game than footie..... A game apparently played by gentlemen. I was at Twickenham last weekend watching England vs Barbarians. What a fantastic day. Sun shining (and I didn't get sun burnt) Men in shorts, a 99 in one hand and drink in another (99 is an ice cream by the way) Then when it was all over the Barba's coach drove past us and some were a little too hot for their suits, I haven't seen such big pecs  I so wish you could bottle the atmosphere, you would earn a fortune.

I think you bottled your impression in words, Waresl. Sometimes more complete than a picture.

Well thank you, Give me 30 grubby gentlemen and I'll describe you an image. :cold shower 1

Shipmate- 06-15-2009

You don't have to describe,Waresl, I've got the image ALL on my own :naughty :naughty :naughty ..........mmmmmmmmm!

StevieT- 06-16-2009

Ohhhhh, yesssss! Make that 30 grubby, sweaty, battle scarred Welshmen and I'm lost to reason :thud (or even 15 trouncing 15 lesser mortals! ) :Wales

Gaffer'sGirl- 06-16-2009

I'll root for the Welsh :Wales even if I don't understand the game.

Sorry, I'll have to keep my faith. :Knight

Would anyone be unhappy if I said that although I live 10 mins walk from a rugby ground, I have never been to watch a game! Not even to watch my nephew playing grade rugby.
