i didn't like the movie either, expect that ioan was in it. however i liked Bottlesworth's humor. Cruelelle was a bit demonic!

Well, I have to agree it's not the best sequel, but I was not all that enamoured by the remake of 101 Dalmatians. I thought it was good, however the animated version was one of the first movies I ever saw, so I'm a little prejudiced in that way. Personally, I think if you have actors who have given excellent performances in the past (Close, Gruffudd and Depardieu) and they come up short in a movie, particularly if it's more than one role or actor, then you have to look at the script and director. If the scripts falls short, it is difficult to do much. The director should be in control of the vision and the performances - letting the actors know which direction to go. Basically, I watched it for Ioan, also. He is cute in it, even if the story is not so great.

'Tis true,"102 Dalmatians" isn't a 5-star film. But,it's a kids' movie,so I suppose we might be able to excuse some things on that account. Ioan was his sweet, 'adorkable' self in it and the puppies were awfully cuddly and cute.
