I remember that one Stevie and it's the one I thought of too. I completely forgot about that car accident. Perhaps it'd be better if ringtones just said which one she meant! Sorry for the delay in responding. Busy day today. I was talking about the one where he was pulled over by a man pretending to be a some kind of law enforcement agent. The dude said he had to pay a fine right then and there. Ioan got in the man's car to go to the ATM. That could've gotten very dangerous. I think he pretended to be something a little more scary (for lack of a better word) than a regular cop...maybe some sort of agent? I don't want to lie but I am not certain on that detail. ETA: The laundramat story? I haven't heard that one. :???:

Well, people in glass houses and all that......I certainly enjoyed his rendition of that story (ah. yes, it's all so clear now!) and all the others on the Graham Norton show. Ioan was bright and entertaining and GN is the perfect foil for any storyteller. Compare his methods with Craig Fergusson who could have 'helped' Ioan out a great deal by moving him in a different direction......... I know I've said this before, but I do think his answers are effected by the person asking the question and how the question is asked. Often times in written articles we don't have the ability to know the question or the tone in which it was asked or even if other questions were asked that get left out. And yes, I agree with you Stevie, that Graham Norton did a wonderful job interviewing Ioan. It was a fun show. With Craig Ferguson I felt a little like the second interview (in which he told "the bank story" I think) was a bit of damage control after the one earlier this year. Just a guess.

I know I've said this before, but I do think his answers are effected by the person asking the question and how the question is asked. I'd say that answers are certainly affected by how questions are asked. Then how question is asked is affected by the person asking them and if there is something this person wants to prove or the direction s/he wants the conversation to go. I agree with you, Stevie and GG. I've got the impression that Graham Norton is someone aiming at making an interesting and entertaining show for its viewers, while Craig Ferguson is aiming at having fun himself - even at his guests' expense - and is naughtier than Graham Norton.

I know I've said this before, but I do think his answers are effected by the person asking the question and how the question is asked. I understand exactly what you are saying and I agree with you. A lot of times things are misconstrued and taking out of context. The media doesn't care because scandals sell and the more drama they can create the better (for them).

The media doesn't care because scandals sell and the more drama they can create the better (for them). Ha, there's a French magazine which revels in gossips and scandals (gossips and scandals are its raison d'etre) and whose first 4 or 5 pages are usually given up to listing all plaints filed against them by celebrities, but even if they happen to be sentenced to pay reparations and/or deny some of their contents, they have never changed the contents of the magazines, possibly because scandals and gossip sell very well.

Recycling is a good thing but I'm looking forward to some new material. (clickable)

StevieT- 12-04-2007

Please forgive me having my :The General: hat on today, but this snippet has been posted in two other places already. Can I remind people to check if they are posting articles? No offence intended :???:

muvidlover- 12-04-2007

Oops sorry Stevie! I searched but didn't see that anyone had scanned the actual People mag article with Ioan's pic. Thought this was the proper place after reading Frances' re-direct to this thread p. 7. Love the tank smiley.

StevieT- 12-04-2007

Ah, so it was the pic you were posting? It is a nice one....... :love2:

Frances- 12-04-2007

Sorry if my post re-directing to this thread was confusing. What I meant is that the snippet from People Magazine "Free Association" (a typeout, not a magazine scan) can be found at page 7 in this thread.

muvidlover- 12-04-2007

No problem. I just wanted to add something new to the conversation and not repeat what had already been posted.

Thanks to My Irish Sister. People News Fashion victim Ioan Gruffudd Dec 29, 2007, 12:30 GMT Ioan Gruffudd says he is a fashion victim. The 'Fantastic Four' star loves treating himself to designer clothes and always dresses his best, even when he is just relaxing at home. Ioan, 34, said: "When it comes to fashion, I'm a bit of a victim. Luckily, my fashion disasters have been few. These days it's Armani every time - it is perfectly tailored to my shape. If I'm lounging around, I'll put on my Sean Paul velour tracksuit bottoms." The 'Amazing Grace' star - who is married to British actress Alice Evans, who he met in 2000 while shooting family movie '102 Dalmatians' - also revealed his lifestyle in Los Angeles is pure "paradise". Ioan, who was born in Wales, said: "My life is total paradise. Los Angeles is part of that and my acting is a part of that. "But it's mostly down to Alice. I wouldn't have advanced nearly as much if I hadn't had this relationship." Ioan and Alice married in a romantic ceremony in Mexico in September 2007. http://people.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1383711.php/Fashion_victim_Ioan_Gruffudd

I wouldn't have advanced nearly as much if I hadn't had this relationship Hmm, advanced? Interesting choice of words.

Frances- 12-29-2007

Thanks for the snippet, Annee. I wouldn't have advanced nearly as much if I hadn't had this relationship Hmm, advanced? Interesting choice of words. Everything is relative, I suppose. :hmm:

Shipmate- 12-29-2007

Hi Annee, Thx for the clip. Yes,that phrase hit me as ironic, and eyebrow-raising as well. Only time will tell, eh? (I could say something very nasty right here about "victims"and their "victimizers" in this case,.....but I won't :whistle )
