Rainy days
So now it rains here in the Chicago area. Remember me telling you of the threat of flooding out here?? Yeah, well that is no longer threat but certainty. It's been raining off and on since yesterday morning early. I woke to a fine thunderstorm this morning. I LOVE thunderstorms - always did even as a baby. But I like them more when I don't have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to go to work. I wish I could have stayed in bed and drifted blissfully back to sleep.........but alas, I'm here at work. And it's cold, bleary and wet outside. :weeping I want warm weather!!!!!

You and thunderstorms, Gnat, are like me and snowstorms. I love snowstorms and snow, but I like them more when I don't have to wake up early in the morning to go to work. Hope flooding won't be too heavy in your area, Gnat, and that the sun will soon start to shine over Chicago.

I'm a sunshine girl, myself :sun, especially that golden, end of Summer warmth (maybe cos I was born at the beginning of September?)

Dear Gnat, There's an old song that goes: "Cheer up,'cuz the sun's gonna shine in your backdoor someday!" ----- I know that's talking about how a person is feeling blue, and then, happier times come along,----- but,in your case, we'll really hope for the LITERAL translation for you! Very soon, too! Love, Ship

I'm more into the warm months, too. Longer days, less clothes and no colds like I have today. We've had sunshine, snow, hail, rain, snow, black ice, rain and now sun again in the last week. Spring can't make up its mind. I do enjoy the first snow of the year. I feel a bit like Ioan looks as Solomon in S&G as he walks out in the morning to a fresh snow - startled by the glare, a touch of joy at the beauty and newness of it, and then, the reality hits that you will have to slog through it and freeze.

Thanks for that Matie! We still have no sun and it's much colder outside today. But hopefully this changes by tomorrow and we're supposed to have warmer temps by the end of the week. Gaff - that's how our Spring has been thusfar as well. Oh Mother Nature you trollop! :angry2:  Oh and we are officially flooded. Not in my immediate area, but in a suburb that's not far from me. A suburb that a friend of mine lives in. It's a fairly low lying area and it's right by the Des Plaines River. The river's at about 2 feet above flood zone, so needless to say they were calling for volunteers this morning. And Spring has only just begun.
