Silvia- 10-04-2007
Well, I already have my PHD in Psychology, but work as a teacher until 2 weeks ago and now I´m trying to get my PHD in Philosophy (I´m not sure if that´s well written, sorry)
Shipmate- 10-04-2007

Psst, Gaff Conant High School was my high school's rival.
Hey Silvia that's amazing! You're quite the child prodigy eh?? Good for you. Only 24 and working on your 2nd PHD is very impressive. I'm 30 and don't have a single college credit to my name. I feel so accomplished. :blush2: :dunno :happy Oh well. Maybe someday. Anyhoo, I did take psychology in my senior year of high school. I LOVED it!!! I would have gotten better grades had I actually done the homework - but hey I still passed my final exam with a 'B' I believe.
In fact, it's crossed my mind once or twice how cool it would be to be an FBI profiler or to work on cold cases. I love putting pieces of mysteries back together and I would love to take some criminal psychology and criminology courses to see if I could actually put together a profile. But it's also fairly dangerous work and being that I'm a total chicken it wouldn't work for me. But working on cold cases would be so interesting!

It crossed my mind, too, that it would be cool to be an FBI profiler (Hey, Frances, you watch too much TV... I love the series "Criminal Minds"), but being a pretty chicken myself, I'm not sure it would work for me either.
Silvia- 10-24-2007
Well, Thanks for calling me a prodigy, GNA!!!!!
I hope you and Fran can be part of the FBI one day!!!........ But don´t do research on me please!!!!!!!!
Frances- 10-25-2007
Well, Thanks for calling me a prodigy, GNA!!!!!
You are, Silvia. I bet there are few people who worked or are working on their second PhD at 24.
I hope you and Fran can be part of the FBI one day!!!........ But don´t do research on me please!!!!!!!!
Hmm, are there reasons why we should investigate on you, if we ever joined the FBI?
GNAT0629- 10-25-2007
You know Frances, we could just for fun. She'd never know!
Silvia - tis but a pipe dream. Like I said, I'd sooner pick working on cold cases than working for the FBI. I've seen too many movies/TV shows where those people are targets. No thanks. My other problem is that some of the cases they work on are kidnappings and child molesters. I can't handle that stuff. I don't think I could live with myself if I worked on a kidnapping case where the child didn't come home. It's the same reason I couldn't pursue a career in social work. I couldn't handle talking to children of abuse all the time. I'd kill myself in a week out of severe depression. I don't see how anybody can hurt a little child. It's just so unimaginable and unforgiveable.
I'm a sucker for the show "Cold Case" on CBS. Sometimes they can be so sad!!
StevieT- 10-25-2007
There's a great BBC series called Waking the Dead, where the team (Trevor Eve, Sue Johnstone, etc) work on 20 yr old cases while battling their own demons.
I love New Tricks, too, where the investigating team are all pensioner ex-coppers, investigating unsolved cases from their own heydays.
Maybe that's why I like Happy Now, so much it's a bit of a cold case, isn't it?
