With each experience we have in our lives,we add another brick to our Building of Life. Whether it be through actual physical experience; through the things we read,watch in the media,or,things we hear through others. Each idea is part of our personal make-up. How we USE this information,and apply it outwardly,in our presentation of our inner selves to others, may be the ultimate 'performance' of our lives. ------------------------- An actor takes all these sensual images, and then as cleverly as possible,translates them through his characters' actions,speech,mannerisms,and facial expressions.(Something someone like Ioan does particularly well through his various characters.) That's why I think he chooses so many different kinds of roles and characters in his movies,-----he's experimenting with how far his 'bricks of Life' materials are willing to take him;and,he's daring enough to keep on trying to built a little higher with each new role! Any good actor is going to do this throughout his career. -------------------- Hmmmmmmm, anybody still AWAKE out there????? That's the way I see it anyhow.

Nicely put, Ship. I do agree with you that Ioan does try to experiment with a variety of roles, some more successfully than others, but I admire and enjoy all the efforts. If an actor as artist is not willing to stretch and challenge his/her talents, then it is quite sad indeed.

But you're a First Class gaduate of the University of Life, which is much more relevant and important! Drama School and ,later on, Uni were a gas, but I don't know how much I actually learned that is useful to me right now! :roll: The exception is my nurse-training, but even then I've learned much more on the job itself (and certainly much more bout the 'human condition'!)
