FF2 Premiere, if I am not wrong?
Ioan Gruffudd - How can you NOT like the guy who insisted on coming around to save Rose from the icy arctic waters (in Titanic)!? He’s done TV (in The Forsyte Saga he was rival to the- also fabulous and British- Damian Lewis), small indie films, and box office hits. Ioan is a Welsh actor, so he’s been navigating different langauges and cultures his entire life. In his TV interviews, he is very humble and low-key. He was even on The Tavis Smiley Show (which I LOVE) to promote Amazing Grace. Hmmm… his looks and demeanor bring to mind Rupert Graves- another reason to be a fan!

Tee hee, it's one of Ioan's 'Zoolander' poses! (still like it though!).
I like his hair that way. (OK, here's my theory - theory only - He's made comments that he used new kind of braces to fix some teeth - seems to me that it must have been around the time :hmm: - that is also when there were more close mouthed, "Zoolander" smiles - possibility? :dunno ) Thank goodness, he's better looking than Mr. S.

He had his teeth capped a long time ago, but I don't think he ever had braces, at least not as an adult. He's said he wears retainers, but only at night, whilst he sleeps.

True, about the caps, but he seems to have had more work done. We had a discussion about it a while back. Braces were mentioned in one press release about a year and a half ago. I was thinking of those invisalign kind that can't be seen. I remember seeing a picture that I thought looked like he was wearing them, but I could be wrong.
Could be he was squinting slightly from bright lights or needed his contact perscription adjusted or it could be he posed that way on purpose.
I remember the discussion, but the snippet was about retainers he wears to stop him grinding his teeth at night. He had his teeth capped about 5 years ago, and it would be very strange to cap teeth then start straightening work.
Anyway he's been doing the Zoolander pose for ages, since he moved to LA. Doubt he's had braces for that long. He did the pose whilst wearing glasses as well, so I think he just likes the way he looks doing it.

I second what jessed says about the retainers (not sure when the gap in his front teeth disappeared; I guess it must have been with the caps!)
I was being facetious about the Zoolander look. I recall when I used to wear contacts that I was more sensitive to bright lights - maybe he can't help squinting in the glare (or maybe he hasn't got his contacts in and is trying to see :wink: ) Whatever, he went through a phses a couple of years back, when he was photographed quite often in this pose.....maybe someone told him he looked good...........someone should tell him he doesn't need to pose; he looks gorgeous natural!
I also intended to be more of a joke with my braces comment. Perhaps I should have been more clear. That's one of the difficulties when you can't add tone of voice to your comments. Sorry if it was misunderstood.
Although I could swear I saw a picture a couple years ago that he looked like he was wearing one :roll: . Oh well, just have to keep looking. :wink:
I propose some research - a good long snog should do it! One each, of course, so we can compare findings.....and then there'd have to be a Control of course (I suggest Bamber) and then...............
