Hello. :) Less dressed? Why not. But you know: I'm a modest, shy, woman. So I don't like when actors appear naked on screen. :angry2: And that's true! It's stronger than me! I don't like that. Pffff but I get used to it, as ALL actors do that... :???: So I end up looking at these scenes, what could I do anyway?? :???: :) Well then, Nic - here's a few of Ioan's works you should avoid Solomon and Gaynor The Gathering Another Life Forsyte Saga Love in the 21st Century Man and Boy I'm sure you will all remind me of the others; our Welshboy sure used to love taking his kit off!!!!! (Thank goodness! :naughty )

Gaffer'sGirl- 06-24-2008

Well, the Gathering would be safe for her, if it's the American version. Not so good for we Americans though.

Nicolette- 06-24-2008

Another Life Forsyte Saga Love in the 21st Century Man and BoyNoooo?! In ALL THOSE movies TOO? :???: Oooh, that's bad... Well, I DO KNOW about "The gathering". I even proposed the love scene for our friends, here. And I saw several clips on YouTube from "Solomon and Gaenor". I also know Ioan showed his naked bottom in one episode of "Horatio Hornblower". Pffff. Anyway... StevieT: our Welshboy sure used to love taking his kit off!!!!! (Thank goodness! naughty ) He does like to do that! :angry2: HAHA then I suppose it's sad for me Ioan did not had any kiss scene, love scene or "naked bottom" scene when he played Lancelot. Indeed I discovered and loved Ioan as Lancelot. Or maybe that's why I loved him in this movie. No nudity, no sex scene. Maybe. I don't know.

Nicolette- 06-25-2008

Hello everyone. :bye: Ohhhh do not get me wrong, I am NOT a Saint woman! As I said, in the end, I ALWAYS look at those "naked scenes". If I really were SO PURE, I would not watch them AT ALL! But still, YES, it's stronger than me, I would love actors-actresses to stop doing those nude scenes, intense sex scenes etc... Those scenes always shock me a bit. :???: Thanks for the blog link. :hug

In my case, I can be okay with nudity or semi-nudity scenes. I think it depends on the context. I am fine with the nudity scenes in Hornblower (the deck shower scene is in Mutiny, if I remember correctly), The Gathering, or Solomon and Gaenor, because they made sense and flowed well within those movies. What bothers me is the semi-nudity that we get to see on some Italian TV shows because there is no need for it.

What bothers me is the semi-nudity that we get to see on some Italian TV shows because there is no need for it.Oh yes haha. It's awful in Italy. There are so many half-naked women on TV. I know about that as I often watch italian TV. I understand you!

Silvia- 06-27-2008

I´m a shy woman too, but about myself NOT HIM!!!!!!!! hehehehehehehe!!!!!

Gaffer'sGirl- 06-27-2008

I'm with Frances. Much depends on the context of the nudity and why it's there. We create more provocativeness by making it forbidden. Look at the past how a glimpse of a woman's ankle, knee, nape of the neck was considered risque. I often wonder if cultures that grow up with fewer clothes objectify the sexual parts of the body as our cultures do. Ok, I know that's a little out there and maybe the subject for a Master's Thesis, but it's true that we tend to objectify people whose looks we admire, including Ioan.

I must admit that It´s not that I want to see every actor naked but I´ve learned to accept nudity. I used to be very much against it when I was younger

I hardly understand what it's written in this blog about SaG (seems like the plot is described). :) I like the pics a lot, though. :) http://www.unmundodecine.com/2008/06/solomon-and-gaenor-1999.html Thank you for the link to my web. I´m spanish, from Europe. At the top of the web, on the right, there are some flags, if you press on the english, the text will be translated to your language. It´snt a perfect translation but is useful. I wrote an article about Amazing Grace the last year and I´m going to publish it in the next weeks. I´m a fan of Ioan Gruffud too, and after know your forum about him I like it.

Thanks Annee and rt, Got the translated version and appreciate your contributions and enjoyed them very much. S&G is a very fine picture, that's for sure.

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-02-2008

Welcome to the forum Robertaylor. Thanks for the sharing of your article. The English translation was helpful. S & G is one of my favorite Ioan movies and I usually pull it out once or twice a year to watch, especially when I need a good cry.
