Thank you girlies! I appreciate all of this! Gaff - I'm glad your dad's driving your mom crazy. Always a good sign that the man is on the mend. I'm also happy to hear that you've got time off to recoup. I hope you're doing better today. Selma - continued well wishes to your family! :hug OH and Spring has finally sprung here in good ol' Chicagoland!!! We had mid 60's temps all weekend and nothing but sunshine. Same for today. Tomorrow we're supposed to get rain and storms again, but it'll still be somewhat warm (mid 50's anyway). But we actually had the chance to cook out yesterday and sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather! It was a lovely weekend. :applaud:

StevieT- 04-07-2008

Well, I think you sent your snow to us, Gnat! It was on and off all weekend (falling heavily but not lying - the worst of both worlds. For some reason the gritters weren't out last night and Sarah's BF's brother slid his car into a tree. He's fine, thank goodness, but his car is a write-off! Glad to hear the old fox is getting his form back, GG! Take careof yourself as well, mind! We need you! :hug

Gaffer'sGirl- 04-07-2008

Must be the snow we had last week, Stevie. Sorry to hear about Sarah's b.f.'s car. Guess they wouldn't figure there would be need for grit and salt by April. We've run into the same problem. Glad to hear it skipped you Gnat. We've hit 50F, but not any higher, but it does finally feel like Spring. Since I'm still wheezy, I've made a call to the doctor's office as a just in case, but can't get in until Wednesday. So, I still can't see my Dad :waaah: , but at least he is doing better.

Frances- 04-07-2008

So do you think I might be next getting snow right when I was hoping Spring had finally arrived? :waaah: Hopefully, your nasty cold will go soon, GG.

Shipmate- 04-07-2008

HOORAY, GG, (but NOT for your cold--keep working on THAT) -------------------------- BOOOO, Stevie, sorry to hear about the bf's car. Bummer! ------------------------------- AT LAST, Gnat, See, told ya, the sun DID shine in your backdoor, finally, didn't it??!

marthe- 04-08-2008

GG take care of yourself. A cold can be dangereous. And for the weather in Belgium, it remains cold. This morning it was freezing. Last week, rain, snow, hail. I don't know when spring will set in.

GNAT0629- 04-08-2008

Matie - yes thank you very much!!! However we're back to cold and cloudy. We're supposed to get rain sometime today. And then again Thursday, Friday and Saturday. And it's going to be chilly too. *sigh* Ah well. The break this past weekend was welcomed. Stevie - I'm so sorry but I'm glad the BF was not injured! This is why I hate snow. I was in an accident in a blizzard once. And the bastardo left me. GG - get thee to the doctor love! Get meds and get better! :hug

Gaffer'sGirl- 04-08-2008

Gnat - I've got an appointment scheduled in an hour and half as I couldn't sleep for not breathing well last night. I'm not as bad as the last time, but don't want to get there. Thanks for your concern. :hug

GNAT0629- 04-09-2008

:shock Gaff! What did the doc say?? How are you feeling today?

Gaffer'sGirl- 04-09-2008

It wasn't my regular doc because she wan't in. I'm not anywhere near as bad as last winter, but he prescribed some antibiotics and prednisone just to cut things off at the pass. I don't want to get that sick again and I'm probably more susceptible now, so I'm glad I got the pneumonia vaccine. I'm doing OK. Not running around in circles, but I can breath and slept well. Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine.

GNAT0629- 04-09-2008

That's good Gaff. Definitely lay low and take good care of yourself. Drugs are good!

Gaffer'sGirl- 04-09-2008

Thanks, I'm trying. Laying low is just so frustrating, :wall: but necessary. Must put in good Ioan movie and maybe that will help.

GNAT0629- 04-10-2008

Atta girl! I myself am now fighting a sinus infection. I need it to clear up by Saturday because I'm going to the Chicago Historic Museum with my family. And the weather is once again NOT cooperating. It's cold, windy and rainy today. And it's supposed to stay this way through the weekend. :weeping

Gaffer'sGirl- 04-10-2008

Gnat, Hope you get over the sinus infection in time. I'm feeling much better today and will be off to work in a little while. I should be able to make it through the day. Oh! the wonders of antibiotics. Visiting the Chicago Historical Museum sounds fun. Do they have any particular displays that you want to go see?

GNAT0629- 04-11-2008

Gaff - aren't antiobiotics awesome?? The museum - well I started getting interested a couple weeks ago when I found a website dedicated to the Chicago Fire of 1872. This event has fascinated me for awhile now. But I started reading more and more about Chicago history and got to talking to my aunt about it and she suggested we pick a day and go. So we are. There's one exhibition in particular that should be interesting enough. It's called Schaumburg: Cornfield to Woodfield. I grew up in Schaumburg, it's a northwest suburb of Chicago that's become HUGE and very popular. So that should be cool to see. Otherwise just everything in general. They'll have stuff on the Fire, the 2 world's fairs held here, I'm sure something about the Eastland disaster, Fort Dearborn (since that was the first settlement in Chicago), Al Capone and the whole gangster era. There's also another exhibit that looks to be promising. It's called Catholic Chicago. I wasn't raised Catholic, but my mom and her siblings are half Irish and half Sicilian - so they were all raised Catholic. That should be some fun for my aunts and me. However, the weather this weekend looks :cold: and :hide again. And this will be us very soon: :drowning We're getting snow as well. *sigh* But next week we're supposed to see 70 degree temps! :sun  :woohoo
