Thanks Annee. I'm looking forward to this movie. At Shipmate's encouragement I read the book. I must agree that Ioan doesn't look much like the description of Sir Benjamin, but I think he suits the spirit. It's always hard when adapting a book to suit everyone, especially one that is a classic. After reading it, I could see why some alterations would need to be made for today's audience.
Thanks, annee - interesting comments. (I'm going to move this over to The thread for Moonacre)
I did not read the book and now, I'm rather glad, as I can approach the film with no pre-conceived ideas. However - and I know this is really hard to swallow if you are fond of a book - there is no rule that says one has to follow it in every detail. I enjoy seeing a director's different perspective on a story. I'm looking forward to this one!
Oh thanks,Annee! I'm really looking forward to this movie, too! I think Ioan will bring an added lively and robust quality to this story, and besides....I'd rather look at HIM, than the way Sir Benjamin (Sweet and dear tho' he is!) is described in the book.
Definitely with you on that, Shipmate.
Thanks, Annee.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Secret of Moonacre, I'm also glad I haven't read the book, so I can see the movie without pre-conceived ideas. I'm aware, too, that this is hard to swallow if you are fond of a book, but there is really no rule that says one has to follow it in every detail, sometimes it is impossible to. Actually, a director's different perspective on a story may be interesting to see.
I found this blog hilariously clever! See what you think......

'Uncle Hornblower'........
That was pretty funny, even without having seen hide nor hair of Moonacre . . .in my part of the U.S. ;angry: :angry2:
Thanks for it, Stevie.
Thanks girls.
I wonder if I will be able to see the film where I live.
Very funny and creative. Thanks for posting,Stevie. Parodies can be really difficult to write, and still come across well. This one did a great job!
