I'm keeping both my fingers and my toes crossed and hope that CBS will actually pick 'Meant to Be'.
This morning CBS announced it's new show choices for the 2008-09 season, including mid-season:
Eleventh Hour (AG's Rufus Sewell, Jerry Bruckheimer), The Ex List, Harper's Island, The Mentalist, Project Gary, and Worst Week.
Perhaps 'The Meant to Be's' will be kept on the back burner and developed if one of the above fails.

Darn it! Oh well, chin up, Welshboy! :hug
:waaah: :weeping :angry2:
So I have to wish that one of the series picked fails and CBS decides to develop 'Meant to Be'. :whistle
Me, too! Of course this still leaves him free to audition for more movie roles. Maybe his roles in Moonacre, W and Fireflies will stimulate some more interest.
Oh boy!!! I guess I´ll have to pray a Rosary tonight!!!!!!!!
A little late (just saw this at futoncritic)...
Ioan Gruffudd ("Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer") is set to star opposite Amy Smart on the drama pilot, about a dead woman (Smart) sent back to Earth to help people improve their lives. He'll play "The Man," who's detailed in the casting notice as follows: "First seen as a homeless man loitering outside Janine's high-end art gallery and making cryptic remarks, he is condescendingly handed a twenty by Janine in the hopes he'll move out of her way. Later we discover him as The Man, Janine's tour guide and mentor in the limbo she's entered after death. Ageless; tall, dark, and handsome; playful yet old world; rugged yet wise, he has been trapped as a "Meant to Be" (elite group of souls who give people on earth a nudge in the correct direction for their respective fates) for decades, possibly longer, and yearns to move on, preferably to Heaven. After performing a "relap" on a teenage boy and thus averting the young man's death, The Man is given another 20 years penalty, so it looks like he'll be mentoring Janine for a long time in her new role." Glenn Gordon Caron is behind the hour, which is based at CBS Paramount Network Television.
Not sure about the "rugged" bit, but I think this role would have been a pretty good fit.
I agree that this role would have been a pretty good fit for Ioan. It is a pity CBS didn't pick the series for the next TV season.
Hello. :)
Ioan would play in a TV series?? He would let down cinema for a while? :(
Hey,sounded pretty interesting, didn't it? Kinda different......I know, "Touched By An Angel", "Highway To Heaven" and all THAT,....but I still would like very much to see it anyhow!
Ioan was cast in the pilot of 'Meant to Be', a TV series for CBS, but apparently the series was not picked up for the season 2008/09, so I think that series will be put on hold until some network decides to pick it.
However, in this case I'm sad because CBS didn't pick 'Meant to be', not because he would take a break from cinema to be in a TV series. If the series is good and he can fit it in his schedule, why not accept to be in it?
That does sound like the role would have given him the opportunity to play a variety of characters. That might be why he chose to audition for it. It would have been fun to watch him in that.
Yeah,............................(sigh!!!).........................
Thank you for explaning me your point of view Frances. :)
You may be right. But I am glad if he stays at doing "movies".
I do not know, to me it is... cooler. WELL only if he plays good roles in good movies, OF COURSE. :)
Don't be disapointed. :)
There will be other auditions for Ioan, for TV or cinema.
What is comforting is that it looks like Ioan is getting noticed by directors and producers, and this is good.
