Thanks for the clip and pics, all. It must have been a thrill for Ioan to be in front of such a crowd. His biggest yet, yes?
That's really great that he was there. Thanks for the heads up War Child (love your av). It's great that he was attending such a great cause, he'll have to cut down the amount he watches his big plasma screens now! ;-)
I agree FloMo, it must have been such a big thrill for him. He didn't do a bad job either.
Thanks Frances.
The BBC were quite annoying they didn't show many of the intros. I recorded the whole concert with the sole intent on looking out for Ioan and David Tennant who introduced the Pussycat Dolls. The BBC didn't show either intro. Nor did they speak to Ioan afterwards.
BOOOO! Hiisssssssssss! That 's rotten, HHhatholder, kind of seems like a typical thing somehow though, doesn't it? :snake :snake
yes, I think the web-world is getting very twitchy about copywrite lately. Also there have been two big -*test*-('") cases of slander using website blogs recently. There's a cold wind a blowin..........
When I uploaded this Live Earth/Ioan video clip at YouTube I was promptly asked to remove it at Viacom/MTV's request. Now I see someone has done so a week ago and without my permission.
m1i2t3c4h5e6l7l8, if you read this post, please remove my clip. Thanks. "mvlr"
It is a good guess that this m1i2t3c4h5e6l7l8 is a Ioan fan (s/he uploaded only Ioan-related vids at YouTube) and s/he visits Ioan fan sites, but wouldn't it be better to contact this person via YouTube and ask him/her to remove your clip? And possibly to flag and comment on the vid? However, since you were promptly asked to remove that clip when you uploaded it at YouTube, it is likely that this person will be soon asked to do the same.

And YouTube is the first place (or one of the first places) where copyright owners go see if some of their material was used without their permission.

Thanks for the suggestion, Frances, but I've tried all of the above. This person is ignoring my requests and comments and apparently so is youtube (flagging system). Viacom (which owns MTV and many other channels) is very touchy about people uploading their stuff whilst it's still running on their tv and internet channels. I would be surprised if it mattered to them at this point however.

I flagged the video and sent a message to this person to help you make your point. I guess that it is all too easy for this person to ignore our messages and leave the clip up at YouTube and for YouTube not to act, unless MTV/Viacom threatens to sue them for an infringement of copyright laws, and I can understand MTV/Viacom is very interested in having clips taken down only as long as they can take viewers away from their tv and internet channels.
Thanks so much for your understanding and help in this matter, Frances. It is definitely appreciated! :hug

It's all about the profit margin isn't it.
It's all about the profit margin isn't it.
Yes, I'm afraid it is: copyright protects profit margins as well as ideas. It is at least partly understandable: the entertainment industry is above all entertainment for us, but it is an industry that they have to make money from for those who work in it.
Maybe it's contagious.
The film features Ioan Grufford playing Evangelical anti-slavery firebrand William Wilberforce, recounting his struggles.

Maybe it's contagious.
It must be. However, Grufford is a recurring misspelling of Gruffudd.
Thanks for the article, Annee.
Yes,I guess if they gave Ioan a neon flashing sign to hang 'round his neck with his name on it,.........it would STILL manage to be misspelled by some! Tsk,tsk,tsk......
