Keepers of the Zone
Personally I think that is an excellent choice of words )Keepers of the Zone)--can we get a vote on that?

Anilia- 04-26-2007

I second that! :D ~Anilia~

Sylviane- 04-26-2007

I don't mind. Just one tiny request from a Dutch girl. When we shorten the name can we call ourselves KOZs. If we would shorten it to KOTZ I'd get a bit sick to my stomage. Kots (pronounced the same way) in Dutch means 'vomit'. :D

StevieT- 04-26-2007

Oh, dear, Sylviane! KOZ sounds great, it's kind of cosy. maybe there are other contenders out there?

rox_fox- 04-26-2007

We protect and preserve the IO-Zone. Crucial! IO-Zoners? Just a suggestion! Keepers of the forum is good. Although I'm not sure many dutch people would care for that abbreviation, as Sylviane has pointed out!

StevieT- 04-26-2007

The Yo-Zone layer?

rox_fox- 04-26-2007

Haha! Of course

Just one tiny request from a Dutch girl. When we shorten the name can we call ourselves KOZs. If we would shorten it to KOTZ I'd get a bit sick to my stomage. Kots (pronounced the same way) in Dutch means 'vomit'. :D  Actually, the pronounciation of KOTZ would kind of remind me of the Italian 'cozza' (pronounced as Kotz or Kots, but with an 'a' at the end), which means 'mussel' but also 'ugly girl' (and we can't think so little of ourselves, can we?). Therefore, Keepers of the Forum is fine as a name, but I'd also prefer to shorten it to KOZ. We protect and preserve the IO-Zone. Crucial! IO-Zoners? Just a suggestion! The Yo-Zone layer? Why not?

Marian- 04-26-2007

The Yo-Zone layer? TA_DA!!! I'm here!! I like Stevie's suggestion, but why cant we use LOTF (L can stand for Lads and Ladies)?? It's not linked to IOL in anyway is it?? I know Ioan himself gave the Ladies in NY for the KA premiere that nickname, but IMHO is that any reason to dump it??

StevieT- 04-27-2007

Hi Marian! Ioan didn't give us the nickname, he just used it and mispelled it as LOOTF in an autograph. To me The Forum will always be April's wondeful creation. What do other people think?

fishforit- 04-27-2007

Indeed, it doesn't feel right to use LOTF. It's too dearly connected with IOL. I do like the Yo-zone layer. (Spelt IO-zone or YO-zone?) But how would you call a member. A IO-zone layer? A IO-zone player? And we definately need a verb. Like in "move over from that computer, I had a bad day, I need to ... for a while".

StevieT- 04-27-2007

Good thinking, fishforit! :) How about "I'm gonna Yo-Zone it for a while, cause I'm a Yo-Zoner from the Yo-Zone Layer". Hmmm, might elicit much sniffing for the aroma of a certain weed......

Frances- 04-27-2007

First of all, welcome, Marian. Good to see you here. :) but why cant we use LOTF (L can stand for Lads and Ladies)?? Though it is true that this is a forum and the people participating in it are Ladies or Lads of the Forum, but as it is the case with Stevie and Fish, LOTF will be forever tied to IOL in my mind. I like the verb 'Yo-Zone'. :D

HilJohn- 04-27-2007

Yo-Zone. hmmm.... trying it on for size. Yeah, I can dig it.

GNAT0629- 04-27-2007

I think it's cute! I never got the chance to ask what LOTF/LOOTF stood for anyway so I never knew.
