Drums Drums Drums... I found an actor who managed to surprise me: Mr. JR Meyers! :applaud: Finally someone who breaks the London-LA routine! :applaud: He, just like the majority of actors, has a place to stay in both towns; still, I discovered that he also owns a place to stay in Morocco and in the most beautiful town on Earth: Dublin! :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

Annee - I've never heard of him and couldn't find him listed on IMDB. What has he been in?

StevieT- 07-29-2008

He played Henry VIII in the recent lavish serialisation 'The Tudors', GG. Did you get it in the US? He was quite compelling in that, but I'm not familiar with his other stuff. I believe he's an Irishman originally. I wouldn't mind a home in Morocco, though - especially if it's anything like Tunisia!

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-29-2008

Didn't get to see The Tudors as it was on one of the extra paid channels I don't get. Funny I couldn't find him on IMDB.

Stevie - yeah it's a Showtime or HBO series. I've never seen it, although it looks very interesting! I love that part of British history. Actually I like British history, all the royals and such. I find it very fascinating.

Hey Gaff - try Jonathon Rhys (sp?) Meyers. He also played Elvis in a mini series/TV movie some time back. He was also in August Rush with Kerri Russell.

Sylviane- 07-29-2008

Jonathan Rhys Meyers also played in 'Titus'. He played Chiron, the younger brother of Demetrius (Matthew Rhys) and, yes, he was very good there. Not as good as good Matthew, but still......

JeepGirl83- 07-29-2008

I know he was also in Bend It Like Beckham.

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-29-2008

:wall: :hammer I didn't even connect Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Geez! Of course I know who he is. He was also in Happy Now. I must have been :snooze or having trouble with nicknames. Just didn't get it.

Sylviane- 07-30-2008

He was scary in 'Happy now', although Chiron wasn't more balanced  But, yes, he is a good actor. And attractive. :naughty

StevieT- 07-30-2008

Blimey! I completely forgot about Happy Now!!!!! :hammer :hammer :hammer :hammer (I guess I was wrong about the Irish bit, too! Was I thinking of Jonny Lee Miller, or what?????) Gnat - The Tudors is a good romp, but I wouldn't take any of it too literally....especially if your interested in historical accuracy!

GNAT0629- 07-30-2008

Jeep - you're absolutely right! I forgot about Bend It Like Beckham! I guess he didn't make much of an impression on me in that. Stevie - yeah I heard the same thing about the new John Adams series that Paul Giamotti's doing for HBO. I've heard it's not totally to the letter historical. But I still like watching stuff regarding the history of the royals. Like Lady Jane. Again, not sure how much of that was totally accurate. But I think it was fairly close, after reading her story. It's still all so confusing though. It's hard to keep those people straight!!! :happy

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-30-2008

I've had the chance to see the John Adams Chronicles about half way through. Of course, the performances of Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti and Stephen Dillane make it well worth watching. Believe me, I know how difficult it is to try and balance historical accuracy with dramatic content and sometimes it is :wall: :shake pc: . I'm going through that right now, can you tell? Sylviane - Got to agree that Meyers was spooky in Happy Now.

GNAT0629- 07-30-2008

Gaff - I forgot that you're going through that. But it's true. Hollywood always wants to sensationalize everything and sometimes the accurate portrait of history is more fascinating and captivating.
