Ioan Wants rights to HH novels?
Found this on Ioan's Wikipedia page today. It's uncited, so don't know if it's true. I really hope it is - I can't think of anyone better to produce an HH film (as long as he was in it, of course!)
"Since February 2007, Gruffudd has been making plans to obtain rights to the Horatio Hornblower novels in order to produce a film for the big screen."
Here's the link :

Oo, how I wish that was true! I'm sure he plans on being in the film, if a film is to be made. :horatio
I can't say how much I'd like Ioan to buy the rights to HH novels and produce a film. There is still so much in the books that deserves to make it to small or big screen.
That would be wonderful if he can make that happen. Maybe Forester's estate or whichever entity currently has the rights will be willing to sell them knowing Ioan's passion for the character.
Gaffer's Girl
There were a few news pieces similiar to this is February, and I believe April confirmed that they were false. Still, dare to dream.
Ah, well - knew it was too good to be true.......in the world of the internet, it seems there's often 'smoke without fire' (or should that be FIYAAAAH! ) Ioan would be in a prime position to play the later Hornblower now. never underestimate the power of dreams.............. :snooze
You would think now that the A&E movies are dead, the Forrester family might want to allow a theatrical movie to be made. This could only bring more money to the estate. What a treat it would be to see Ioan play Horatio again and on the big screen too. I doubt he would have the funds himself to secure the rights, but maybe he can work with a backer to purchase them.

LOL I just projected waaay into the future and saw myself watching the movie then buying the DVD and watching it 100 more times... siiiiigh
It would be nice to see IG as HH on the big screen. And as Sean Bean is coming back to our screens as Sharpe soon, it would be VERY nice to have more men in uniform to watch.
Fingers crossed.
Wouldn't that be great, Waresl. Seems like it's still in the wishing and hoping phase at this time.
