Isn't it annoying when technology doesn't do what we want it to do? I promise I won't complain anymore when my connection is slow in starting as it occasionally happens.
The laptop is really fast, but the PC takes forever - I can only think it's all the *beep* I have on the PC (not including the zillion pics of Welshboy, of course! :cool: ), as they run off the same connection.

Sounds like you really need to change your box, Nic. Or is it where you live that has the poor signal? I'm with Virgin and find them very good, but I do live in a city.

I have my router and my computer that are configured so that Internet connection starts as soon as I switch my computer on: this usually happens very fast, but sometimes I have to wait up to 10 minutes before being able to actually check my email or surf the Internet. I don't know if this has to do with there being moments when traffic on the lines is very heavy, but since it is a problem that I have no more than once a month, I can go along with it.
I find things slow down around 3pm and I have been told that's because the Americans 'come on line' then - not sure if it's true, but it is always faster during my mornings. I have recently passworded my network (I know, I know! Better late than never! :roll: ) and things have speeded up since then, too; I may have been providing a free net service for a neighbour.... :???:

For my internet, they just came and hooked me up and so far all is well. Knock wood! :hammer I'm having trouble with my USB outlet. Can't print a darn thing right now. I'm going to try and re-install it, but what a pain. I should have done it weeks ago. I'll just keep procrastinating until I really need to print something. Thank goodness that's not too often.
