That's a nice mention from a good blog, annee! And what a demure, relaxed couple they look too (at last! :tsk tsk: General!)
I remember that dress Alice wore, it was beautiful. I also remember what was happening around that time last year, or what was soon going to happen anyway. That wasn't long before everything went pear-shaped.
Nice blog and nice mention of Ioan! Ioan and AE look good and relaxed in the pic of them there. I remember that dress AE wore: it was one of her best. And the bloggers look and sound like an easygoing couple. Thanks for sharing, Annee.
Thanks for the Ioan mention, Annee. That is a pretty dress, isn't it? A very becoming color too. Nice to see them enjoying themselves.
Re the Wedi 2007 programme:
Our only hope is now that someone puts it on YouTube or something.... :???:
I would have really liked to see Matthew. It's not on youtube yet, but the entire program 'Wedi 2007' (50 minutes) is replaying on the S4C website:
http://www.s4c.co.uk/e_index.shtml (click Watch Here -> A to Z of content -> Wedi 7)
Ioan and Matthew are shown in older interviews - Ioan for 'Amazing Grace' (8:20) and Matthew being interviewed during the filming of the Dylan Thomas film (40:30 and 42:20). I almost didn't recognize him with all those long curls but then I heard the laugh.

Awww that's disappointing for those who were able to watch it on New Years eve, waiting for them. Mind you, I was a bit suspicious when my Guardian TV guide did a piece on the show and didn't even mention the Taffy Twins :dunno
Here are clips of the part of Wedi 2007 with Ioan:
Ioan
I posted the links to the parts with Matthew Rhys on his thread in the Not Ioans forum.
Thanks Muvidlover and Frances. I enjoy hearing Ioan speak Welsh, just wish I could understand what he was saying  . May have to get Rosetta Stone language tapes  .
Much appreciated, frances. And I agree, GG - the fact of understanding what he's saying is almost secondary to the beauty of the language! :love2:
Oooh, nice choice!
(I'm sure they could have found room for me in all the luggage I'm sure they took! )
Nice choice for a honeymoon! (Or any holiday at that)
(Perhaps they could have found room for me, too, in their luggage, though it would have turned out to be very heavy )
I was not familiar with the Maldives. When I looked it up, my first thought was, 'That sunshine sure looks enticing right now, especially since I spent an hour at work outside in the wind and snow. Let me tell you, it was bitter cold out there.
I'm not familiar with "Longford" so I don't know how it compares to "Amazing Grace", but I wouldn't define Ioan's portrayal of William Wilberforce a caricature.
Thanks for the snippet, Annee.
I'm not sure I understand this comparison, either. :???: Lord Longford was an eccentric politician who sustained a solid campaign over several years to have Myra Hindley released from prison (she being the 'monster' referred to).
With her partner, Ian Brady, she abducted and murdered five children in the 1960s and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. She died not so long ago in prison aged 60.Here's an article summarising the case....
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/452614.stm
Brady was sent to Broadmoor, a hospital for the criminally insane, and Longford argued that Hindley was under Brady's spell and had now paid for her crimes. Given the fact that she refused for decades to show the police where the body of one of the children was buried, (relenting only when a sniff of parole arose,) and denying his family closure, i think the tag 'monster' fits Hindley as well as anyone.
Again, I fail to see the comparison..........
