As we seem to be in the mood for old stories, here's one I was reminded of today...... Trivia: from an interview with Alice Evans, one of Matthews co-stars in Abduction Club and in 2002 Ioan Gruffudd’s girlfriend: Is it true that Ioan sleeps with his Hornblower sword next to his bed? Yes - it's a really smart sword, but very heavy. It's tucked into a little niche by the bed. Hornblower is very important to Ioan - he says it's grounding to have it there. It's also for self-defence of course, although it's not very sharp. There was one time when his flat-mate, Matthew Rhys, came home when he was meant to be in Wales. Ioan thought he was a burglar. He was hiding behind the door, waiting to attack him with his sword, and scared the s*** out of Matthew. “ And Ioan’s take on it was he was in his room, not wearing anything and suddenly he heard this crash, he went downstairs and grabbed his Hornblower sword and went to clobber the 'burglar' on the head with the sword but realised at the last moment it was Matthew. Seems Ioan will not be appearing at ComicCon afterall (suspicions abound, but this confirms it.)..... In addition, Celebrity Authentic, which handles a number of A-listers including Christian Bale, announced a few weeks ago that they were pulling their guests out of Big Apple for unnamed reasons: Please be advised that due to circumstances beyond our control, we have canceled all talent scheduled to appear at the Big Apple Comic-Con including Willem Dafoe, Taylor Kitsch, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cameron Bright, Robert Patrick, Lynn Collins, Ioan Gruffudd and Scott Speedman. We realize that this comes as a great disappointment for we were all looking forward to the show and these talented artists. Hmmm! I'd guess it's either money or security reasons. Comic-con is usually very successful, but who knows in these uncertain times moneywise. It would be interesting to know why. Might have been interesting for the Welsh Boy, but my guess is that he is just as happy staying home with his family a little while longer.

Just a thought, but might it be they couldn't agree terms? For an agent to pul all of their clients from one event.......???? Also, this is not Ioan's usual representation........
