...Hadn't heard anything about any kind of honor for Matthew??????)
It was on Matthew's thead.
Matthew is to become a member of the Gorsedd of Bards at this year’s National Eisteddfod, but also:
"WELSH screen heartthrob Matthew Rhys is about to venture into the world of music. He will take to the stage with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales as part of this summer’s National Eisteddfod in his home city of Cardiff. Matthew, 33, a former pupil of Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, will provide the first-ever narration in Welsh for Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, conducted by NYOW Music Director, Owain Arwel Hughes.
The following evening, Matthew, is to be accepted as a member of the Gorsedd of the Bards."
Another interview said that the concert would be on 7th August, that would mean that Matthew's being accepted as a member would be on 08-08-'08. Wonder if Ioan will be there. It would be nice.
Paooooo so it is TRUE, "Moon Princess" comes out on august 3!
So fast after after all!
Waoo so we can see a lot of Ioan (finally  :applaud:) those days!
Oh sorry, I just saw this NICE video of Ioan on this welsh site, searching on Google.
Thank you the same. :hug
Seems Like Ioan And Math Will Launch Eistedd.
Thanks To MIS. :)
HOLLYWOOD stars Ioan Gruffudd and Matthew Rhys will be among the big names launching the Eisteddfod in Cardiff tonight.

That's nice news for both of them, especially since it is taking place in Cardiff.
Just A Note:
(A taped appearance would match with the NY reading better, so to speak. Of course, Ioan too might very well fly UK-NY-UK).
Time Will Tell, I think. :)
While in the US, Ms Jones also recorded a message from Gruffudd, which will be filmed during an eisteddfod concert marking 30 years since Ysgol Glantaf opened. Rhys and Jones will both be there in person.
During the week, Rhys will be admitted to the Gorsedd of Bards for his contribution to Welsh culture, five years after Gruffudd received the honour.

I'm thinking it will also be live on their internet channel at the same time. Hoping someone will be able to record Ioan's taped segment and Matthew's appearance, or at the least this program will be re-played at s4c.co.uk.

Thanks for letting us know, Muvidlover. Don't know if I can catch it, but I'm going to try.
All of that would be fun to see,and I wish I could see it too. What a wonderful event for Matthew! Bet he's bursting at the seams.....
Looks like I can't view it either. Maybe there is a blackout. Hopefully they will post a clip later.
Good luck with that,Annee, hope you hear back on it. Let us know, okay? ------------------------ Sounds like some good PICTURES could be on their way to us sooooooon.......no matter WHERE Ioan winds up!!!!
Thanks To MIS. :)
Seems Like Ioan And Math made a Eistedd Launch Satellite appearance. :)
This year’s Eisteddfod is perhaps the most star-studded for years, with Cerys Matthews, Connie Fisher, Shan Cothi and Bryn Terfel set to perform after actors Ioan Gruffudd and Matthew Rhys made an appearance via satellite link last night.

I wonder if me boyos will make any of the festivities later in the week? My Gruff radar is twitching......I feel he won't be far.........excuse me while I go into a trance........ :dance
Ohhh! Lucky you if he is. Might be worth a trip to Cardiff.
My son's just finished a week in Wales (fair enough, he was up a mountain on tactical exercises, but you know, Land of My Fathers and all that! )
I like Cardiff, but it's few hundred miles away and I'm working. Sigh! :weeping
