Thanks, Havoc. :hug I'm better now.
As a way to relax and an effort to see if I can keep my blood pressure up, I'm currently in my garden surfing the Internet. Blessed those who invented laptops and wifi.
Good for you! I just finished my aquarium gardening and am heading out to do my garden now. Deadheading never ceases, but it's so worth it when a new crop of blooms comes in.

Aquarium gardening! I find aquariums endlessly fascinating, but I don't think I could keep one myself. A friend of mine once asked me to look after her aquarium while she was on holiday, but though she never told me what I did wrong, she never asked me the favour to look after her aquarium again while she was away.

Hi Frances, Sounds like you are doing better now,and I'm glad of that! I am sooo bad at growing things. I can even kill a cactus!!!!!! And that's pretty bad, isn't it? I love beautiful gardens of any type and so admire people who can tend them well. The aquarium gardens are so beautiful and I'm jealous of anybody who can make them grow properly,Havoc! :rotf: :thumbs up

Oh, I killed quite a few cactuses (cacti?). My garden looks pretty good just because my mother comes in to help me look after it, otherwise I can keep just animals who make themselves heard when they're hungry or need something.

Mine has plenty of flowers and plenty of weeds that I should be picking right now. :whistle But this is more fun, though every day when I walk outside, I go into :shock at how well I can grow weeds.

It's nice you like gardens, aquariums... :)
My mother got a very nice garden (flowers, little trees, nice grass she takes care of a lot, and some vegatables  Few ones, sure).
It's beautiful.
My brother used to have an aquarium and it was a bit boring to take care of it. But the fishes were nice.

Weeds, or native plants Gaffer <LOL> I'm about to do a native rock garden. Most of my plants right now are of the container variety. I too have killed many cacti!
I might actually get some tomatoes and bell peppers this year, I'm not good with veggies in containers!

My poor dear garden looks like "ยทยท$%&/ since I had the baby. I need days with more hours for all I have to do!!!!!!! Think I have the chance of a miracle here????

Well, I suppose they are native plants out in the fields and weeds when they grow up through my walkway and in front of my flowers  . Actually, I don't mind the dandelions, clover, daisies or poppies; it's the noxious plants that need to be picked. The non-native Scotch Broom or some sort of plant with prickers that's not a cactus and grows all over the place.
I have some strawberries growing in a pot, but no vegetables this year. Good luck with your rock garden and your veggies. Most tomatoes are about impossible to grow here as we are too close to the Strait to get enough consistent sun.

I tell people my garden is a 'wildlife sanctury' . We've had so much rain here lately that I can't get out with the machete to cut it down and of course it grows like wildfire! No, it just needs a haircut really....I have always been a believer in the theory that weeds are only plants you don't want. I used to plant alot of flowers every year, but don't have the time or energy (or weather) anymore, so I'm letting the shrubs fill in the gaps. But there are some lovely flowering 'weeds' that creep in between and I love the effect.
Maybe we could have a Gardens thread in Small World........?
Gaffer'sGirl- 06-24-2008
That would be fun. Pictures could even be posted so we can see some of the well tended gardens or in our case we could see who has the most beautiful weeds  .

'wildlife sanctury' hehehe Good one Stevie!!!!!
Maybe I should say the same about mine!!!!!

Thanks a lot for that one, Annee. Nice to get some personal observations from the boy-o! Always fun to read.
Gaffer'sGirl- 07-02-2008
I like that one quite a bit. It is fun to read his comments on a subject he is passionate about. Thanks Annee.
