I think a stylish, winter time, dress, casual is hard enough to achieve no matter the age. Jeans and a leather jacket can get tiresome, a suit can be too formal or dressy, do you layer or always wear black. I'm not overly fond of the untucked shirt look, but because of Ioan's body proportions a stylist might have suggested that choice. Ioan has long legs and a shorter torso in proportion to them. With a tucked in shirt or shorter sweater it makes the proportions look less balanced. The untucked shirt gives the appearance of a longer torso. I think that's part of the reason he looks so great in a suit, jacket length creates balance.

Anyone know if Ioan is presenting/attending the BAFTAs tomorrow night?!

I hope he is. A repeat of the Ruby Wax interview would be gold :wink: If he does attend or present, google alerts will pick it up and eventually send it on to me so if I hear anything I'd shout (well, type) out.

Well, NYC would be a logical juming off spot for London for sure. But, shockingly, Amazing Grace was also ignored by the BAFTAs was well.

Looking at that list, it looks pretty typical, doesn't it?. It seems for most big shows presenters are either actors who won the previous year, are up for an award in the current year or have a well publicized film coming out within a short period of time of the awards. Unless of course it's a comedian who is there for entertainment value. Since Ioan doesn't currently fall into any of those categories, it's not likely he'd present.

Ringtones, I agree that Ioan looks great in color. I lived most of my life in Southern California and during much of the year it is warm. In the summers it can hit 90-100 degrees farenheirt for weeks on end. It is not all that unusual to have some 70 degree days even in November. For some reason when you get used to that, 50 degrees (which does happen) starts to feel like it is freezing. I can remember feeling like I needed to wear a heavy coat when it got in the 50's, so it doesn't surprise me all that much. California can also get hit with torrential rains and heavy winds in the winter. The nearby mountains can also get snow in the winter. Where I'm at now the mid-fifties start to become shorts and t-shirt weather if the sun is out. The hot-*test*-('") we got last summer was in the low 70's. I guess it comes down to the weater differential between your hot-*test*-('") and coldest weather. Last week we had spitting snowy weather in the thirties with wind and some guy came into the store I work at in shorts and a t-shirt. We all thought he was crazy. Turns out he was from Alaska and it was warm for him.

I can recall that 3 or 4 years ago I went to Rome shortly before Christmas, and I overheard a young woman with heavy coat on telling to a friend on the phone that it was freezing, while I had just a sweater on and I was okay (temperature was in the 50's).

I was sitting at my computer with Celebrity Apprentice playing in the background - they were showing Piers Morgan's team at an art auction earning money for a charity - Intrepid Fallen Heroes - which supports the families of severly injured servicemen. Anyway, what do I hear - "A man saying I represent the long arm of Ioan Gruffudd" - Piers said "Mr. Fantastic". The man said " Yes. He's sorry he couldn't be here, but he is purchasing those two pictures to support the fund." This is slightly paraphrased, but basically what they said. The two pictures were Modern art - kind of a circular pattern, if I remember correctly blue, tan, black and maybe a touch of a reddish-brown color. It was so quick that it is hard to be sure. Anyway, Piers' team sold about $165,000 in painting all told as several other people bought and it earned around $54,000 for the charity. Nice of Ioan to participate in that. My Dad being career military, that's a charity I certainly appreciate.

I remember that one. The pictures he purchased were more elaborate, though still clean and simple in design.
