On a side note - I do hope he was out on the Smoker's Corner for conversation and not a smoke.
Me too, GG! Ioan has smoked in the past, so I'm not so sure, but as he cares so much about his 'seed' I hope not!
On another side note - In my personal life, I've found that most creative personalities (including myself) tend to addictive behaviors and poor boundaries, which means doing good and bad activities/ work or fun to excess. What say my other creative friends?
Oh, yes, definitely! My boundaries are non existent; I only know I'm overworking (or obsessing creatively) when my mates start complaining they never see me! (or the kids are doing the housework!)
I'm addicted to strong, real coffee and pure chocolate and to seeing whatever I put on paper (whether it's obs charts at work, or notebooks at home) work out....and I'm a totaol twat if they don't for some reason!

Yeah! That I knew. I think he said he was a social smoker. My Mom always said that, too. She'd hold it for something to do and not inhale. Both my folks have since quit for which I'm grateful. Of course I might have had ten siblings if my Dad quit sooner.

Me, too. It's why I've edited or written for 36 hours straight or find myself still up at 2:00AM working compulsively on some project. Excellent Chocolate is a major vice for me, too. The good of the addictive side is that I can and do finish a script or a half marathon. The bad side is I don't always take good care of myself, unless that's an obsession at the time. Guess that's also why I watched Hornblower again for the umpteenth time. And look at the number of my posts. - Just a little addictive.

I liked this interview very much. I agree that 'guileless' is a good description of Ioan and though endearing, it is something that can get him into trouble.

Ha, my boundaries tend to be very blurred and I'm addicted to coffee and sweets. Guess why I keep receiving calls from friends asking me what I am up to that prevented me from getting in touch with them, or why I run out of coffee and sweets so often...

One thing though. I can't quite imagine AEG with 3 kids.
Shipmate- 11-19-2008
This was a really nicely done article, and I think I like it better than the previous one. The line about having a little girl was so sweet. I hope that he can fulfill all of his dreams someday. Much good luck to them both.

Well, I have known kids to change people for the better (I'd hate to see the little girl's wardrobe, though! )

Aftter I said that, I thought I'm sure they'll have a nanny. But then I thought that AEG might not be thrilled with what 3 kids will do to her body.

Funnily enough, I was thinking - it's easy for him to have his eye on a brood of three he doesn't have to pop them out!

Our favourite eccentric, Stephen Fry, apparently still thinks Ioan is "a complete poppet!".......

And Mr. Fry says that is a "good thing". Of course, we Stateside English speakers don't use that term, but it sounds charming and since Ioan is . . . well, appropriate. Thanks for posting that, Stevie.

Guess Ioan was in LA for Christmas - here's a cute clip of him almost getting away with queue-jumping....... (after the first guy getting followed.) Any suggestions who his mate is? I think the pap asks him as they're getting into their taxi, but I can't get it.

Aw sweet and such a gentleman. Good thing he was taking a cab rather than driving. I don't recognize his friend. Could be a relative or an old school friend come to visit for the holidays.

Oh yes, he is a real gentleman, he looks so cute, but i do not know his friend. Stevie thanks for sharing.

Nice clip! I don't know who Ioan's friend is; as GG said, he could be a relative or an old friend visiting for the holidays.

Definitely gentelmanly to give up a taxi to a lady. I agree that it was wise that he was taking a cab rather than driving, it always is when you go some place where you may end up drinking a bit too much, so you avoid putting yourself and others at risk.

Always the gentleman, isn't he? Enjoyed seeing him in this candid clip. Thanks so much!
