Wish I could watch, but I haven't found a channel that shows rugby on it. Must be some extra money or on the Sports Channels package.

Familiar stories surface in this article from 2005 (it stuns me to think The TV Set was filmed that long ago!) but I enjoyed the angle with the two boys ....I'd have loved to see that kitchen noticeboard for myself...... Welsh touches survived the refit: a silver dragon and a carved red wooden one gaze out from shelves, although Gruffudd’s towel with the Welsh flag has been taken to LA where Alice, reportedly, refuses to let him hang it on the wall. http://property.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/property/article569273.ece

They essentially have a marking point from young "adult or boy hood" to actuall being adults. That's kind of a great thing. Most of us look back and see a gradual process, not a definitely defined period marker that we can appreciate at that moment. While many mourned the disappearance of the Welsh flag, I can understand the need to tuck it away and save it in a special spot rather than having it displayed. Kind of like putting away a childhood teddy bear in my case (who traveled with me on all my travels, even to Europe) or security blanket. It shows growth and maturity. You can revisit those moments in time, but are not dependent on them. Now I'm at the stage of throwing away some of the memory items, though not my teddy bear.

(it stuns me to think The TV Set was filmed that long ago!) At first I wondered how it is possible that The TV Set was filmed 3 and a half years ago considered that the R2 version of the dvd was released last summer, but I thought that it is a project Ioan was involved in after FF was released but before he started filming either Amazing Grace or FF2. Anyway, lovely article... it is good to be reminded of the old days sometimes...

Great article! Had never seen it before. Glad you posted it for us----thanks!!!

StevieT- 04-29-2009

That's because you've read it before Stevie  I remember this article because I liked it very much. I thought I had, but wasn't sure - it must have been long enough ago for me to forget the details (and that's not long, these days  )

I thought I had, but wasn't sure - it must have been long enough ago for me to forget the details (and that's not long, these days  ) Glad you posted it, it was worth a read again. There was another even better one that came out right around that time that talked more about their antics. I saved photos, but never the articles. Read them all when I helped April move them to the new server and for other reasons.

I never kept articles on Ioan either, just pics, until we started thinking about an archive, too.....but that's another story! Now, if you were to mention Steve McQueen - I could show you many a scrapbook from my youth (but that's another story too  )

Frances- 04-29-2009

I never kept articles on Ioan either, just pics, until we started thinking about an archive, too..... So there are three of us, as I also saved photos of Ioan but never articles on him.

ADMIN NOTE I hope you don't mind, but I've split off the discussion on computers to the Techno Trouble section, as it was becoming interesting and distracting..... :The General:

Nicolette- 05-03-2009

Same for me. Pictures and that's all. :wall:

Ioan is protesting against development of Cardiff's four historic parks.... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/2009/05/11/stars-gruff-rhys-and-ioan-gruffudd-join-protest-against-bute-park-bridge-91466-23588908/

Nicolette- 05-11-2009

Thanks for the article. It seems it's a nice step from Ioan. :)

Frances- 05-11-2009

Ha, it is hard to find a balance in the development so that historic sights are easily reachable for visitors without being spoilt, isn't it?
